Jaakkola. 7. Hardly touched the ball. A generous 7!
Davies. 8. Commanding.
Craig. 8. Didn't put a foot wrong. Again.
Kilgour. 8. Calm and assured. Bags of potential.
Hare. 8. Great cross for the opener and had done the same for one that Smith missed before that.
Leahy. 8. Very good performance and showed what he can bring to the party.
Ogogo. 7.5. Does what Ogogo does. Good performance.
Upson. 9. MoM. Was everywhere. Took ball from defenders and got us playing.
Clarke. 7. Still not at his best but battled hard again.
JCH. 7.5. Not fit yet but super finish.
Smith. 8. Intelligent running and good to see him wanting the pen.
Bennett. 6. Didn't really get into the game but did nothing wrong either.
Nichols. Nole.
Ref. 7. Generally good although the second sending off should have been a straight red.
Tranmere. 3. Very poor. To think that Payne can't get in that side shows how bad he is.
GC. 9. I'm not his biggest fan but credit to him. He had the guts to see that we needed width and changed what wasn't working. Hope he sticks with that.

Craig 8 So good you don't even notice he's there
Kilgour 8 An early error passing into trouble but otherwise really good.
Hare 7.5 Good delivery
Clarke 7 Improving
Upson 8.5 MOM Absolutely great tonight. Ferociously competitive and increasingly creative.
Ogogo 7.5 Improved as the game progressed.
Leahy 7 Ok.
Smith 6.5 Busy but struggled against a big, powerful defender.
Clarke-Harris 7 Got into the game later and scored.
Subs: Bennett 6.5 Sone flashes of skill.
Adeboyejo 6 Looked a bit cumbersome.

Much, much better from GC who can see now what a difference width makes?
Special mention to Tranmere fans.....well done 500 travelling to watch that shovel of sh!t.....long way for nothing, but travelled in numbers when you got Liverpool/Everton on your doorstep. I'm not sure we would've taken so many up there if roles reversed...?
Jaakkola 7 can't remember him doing much, but much better at coming off line and claiming crosses.
Davies 7 easy night for him.
Craig 7 easier night for him.
Kilgour 7 easiest night for him.
Hare 7.5 best game so far, nice natural crosser.
Clarke 6.5 a bit poorer than last season.
Upson 7.5 quite impressed and even managed a shot on target.
Ogogo 7 better at breaking up
Leahy 7.5 good going forward.
Smith 8 stylish performance.
Clarke-Harris 7.5 almost there, took goal well to rise above everyone else.
Subs: Bennett 6.5 ineffective.
Adeboyejo 6.5 not much he could do, but didn't do anything wrong.
Nichols 4 he's the pantomime..... Saturday we have the villain.
Crowd 6 quiet, apart from Payne baiting.
Ref 8.5 m o m most overworked man on the pitch!
Tranmere 5 below average. We surely got to end up higher than them on this showing?

Jaakkola 7 Goalie get's a 7 for a clean sheet even if he hasn't had to work for it.
Davies 7 Jaakkola can thank him for making it an easy night.
Craig 7 Too much experience for Tranmere
Kilgour 7.5 Few more performances like this and scouts will be swelling the gate.
Hare 7.5 Wingback suited him, great crossing
Clarke 6.5 Good spells but still had to look hard for him at times
Upson 7 Best of the centre midfield trio
Ogogo 6.5 Much the same as Clarke
Leahy 7 Again wingback seemed to suit him.
Smith 7 Probably better than Jackubiak or Telford,
Clarke-Harris 7.5 Closest Rovers have had to a proper center forward since Rickie Lambert
Subs: Bennett 4 No significant contribution
Adeboyejo 5 OK, replacing JCH is hard
Nichols 4 Had the chance to launch is goal scoring career; but he missed.
GC 6 It was 9 man Tranmere, still looked narrow and sideways at times. I think he could have risked Rodman for 15 minutes to drag wide what was left of Tranmers defence.
Crowd 7 I bet a lot like me who were thinking about not going last night, but glad we did.
Ref 7 Had his work cut out with Tramere bruisers
Tranmere 6 Showed their L2 pedigree. Played better as their numbers reduced, glad they didn't get any more sent off.

Despite a good performance from most on the pitch, still disappointed with the midfields ability to take the ball forward. Very little happening in the middle which when we had the two man advantage was disappointing to see. If everyone was playing with confidence to take on their man think we could of easily had more.
IMO we really need a Lines style player to come in before the window closes.

Jaakkola 7 The nervous start to his Rovers career seems to have been banished, he now looks a very decent keper. Davies 8 commanding and confident Craig 7.5 consistant as usual , Kilgour 8 he's here on merit, the three centre backs form a very good defence, Hare 7 he's better suited as a wing back, a delightful cross for JCH's goal. Clarke 7 better than of late. Upson 8.5 M.o.M maybe his best game yet for the Gas. Ogogo 7.5 does all the ugly stuff well Leahy7 he's better further up the pitch Smith 7 confident and the best partner for JCH Clarke-Harris 8 showed pace, strength and determination, he's nearly ready for 90 minutes. Subs: 6 Bennett a curates egg cameo Adeboyejo 6 slotted in well for the short time he was on the field. Nichols . .I feel sorry for the lad, .he desperately needs a change of club, it aint going to work here Crowd 6 sparse but gave Payne a nice welcome ! Ref 7 stood no nonsense. Tranmere 4 very disappointed in their rough tactics, theyve gone right down in my estimation |
