Well done to GCCC on their promotion back to div one. They have been away from the top division for nearly fifteen years. Captain chris dent and his players have all played exceptionally well this season winning five and drawing six of their fourteen games. Next year it is the clubs 150th anniversary and great for them to be back in the top flight.

Great news. They've been galloping along in the second half of the season.

Good news. Hopefully we can stay there next year. I`m no Somerset fan, but fate certainly does seem to have taken a hand in preventing them being crowned champions, in recent years.

Commiserations Somerset. Been down Taunton last 3 days and another 2 hours of play we would have won that. Look 4wd to a easy away trip for a county championship match.

I was at Southampton last week as well, that’s the one that stopped us. Death by a thousand cuts with the weather. Was obvious from the start. Was sat in Gimblett Hill watching it disappear again. Oh well if nothing else we know how to lose. 9 wins and we still don’t win it! Great watch on last day though. Good to have Gloucestershire there next season well deserved promotion. If Gloucestershire do what Somerset and Essex have done and concentrate on home developed talent they could be ok. Takes time but it’s better than splashing the cash as the test venue Counties do which hasn’t worked so well for Nottinghamshire and Lancashire in the past few years.
