After seeing how bad he was with money when he was a manager, I wouldn't want to see Platt within a million miles of our club.

Italia ‘90, Platty’s volley and a rather drunken evening in Bologna. Memories!
The next few days are set to be very interesting.

Don’t like the look of this consortium, or the fact that someone is undermining Wael and the evening post are entertaining it. Looks like a group of carpet baggers with Platt as a paid public face

Looks like a group of carpet baggers with Platt as a paid public face Exactly that. When they bought the Italian club, Platt was there at the time then immediately walked off and had no more to do with it. Leaving who, exactly? With what interest in Rovers future? This stinks to high heaven. I suspect there will come a day when we long for the return of Wael.

Ali Durden has tweeted that a consortium did contact the club last week but that David Platt is not involved and that it has gone no further.

Was it the Evening Post that broke the story as Points West said the BBC were the ones that have been told about the second consortium and the fact the club has been up for sale for a year. Wael said some months ago that the club could be up for sale if the right investors came along. The implication all along was the club was not up for sale and they were actively looking at other sites following the collapse of the UWE. This was stated in interviews. So what has changed? Personally, I think the club has been up for sale since the collapse of the UWE hence the over grown field that should be our training facility. I am not sure what we can hope for owner wise. We are not in a great position unless our current owners are willing to write off the 20 million we owe to them.
