Pretty sure Luton were bottom at the time but recovered. UTG! You are right Wareham, they were 4th bottom. Sadly 50% of the teams in that division that season, are currently not in the football league. 😩 Yes, just had a look and I counted ten teams who are no longer in the league.

View AttachmentBromley are pretentious.Their new stand shown here. What on earth is wrong with a tent?.They are only Conference and therefore a tent would suffice. How on earth can they have a new stand and we can't? Looks like they’ve got another tier in mind for that stand in the future too.

Bromley have Mark Cousins in goal. The bloke who single handedly almost stopped us getting promoted when playing a blinder for Dag & Red. Yes ,he was superb.

If we had got Bromley away i reckon it would have been picked as a tv game. Will not be now, Most people will fancy us to go through.

Its always tough against these boot and rush teams but if bromley play their normal passing game they might pull off a shock result.

Bromley are doing fantastically in the National League this season and I believe some money has been spent on them in the last few years to improve their ground and turn them into a professional club so this is by no means an easy game. Being unbeaten at home and having Coughlan instead of DC who let’s face it had a terrible FA cup record, does give me confidence though.

I recon around 35000+ The 2nd round v Luton was a great game. 0-2 down & we fought back to win 3-2. Luton were old 4th Div then & going well, I think a young Malcolm McDonald played for them that day. Not sure if Malcolm did but Derek Kevan certainly did. City were home the same day. Versus Wolves I think ?

Last year against Barnet Tom N was through and the keeper held his ankle and brought him down. Clearest penalty of last season except it wasn’t given. Barnet were having a nightmare when their player had a strop when he was substituted. We went 1-0 up and then had a stupid 10 minutes and that was that for another season. GC is different in cup matches. At least he has been so far, and hopefully it will continue. UTG!

In recent seasons we have got promotion after being knocked out by lower ranked sides in the cups..
Bath City in the FA vase/whatever its called now, and the club that Barry Hayes played for when they knocked us out of the FA cup.
Not wanting an upset of us of course, but the same happy ending come May would be very welcome if it did.😊

Our recent record in the FA Cup has been dire. We have only made the second round once in the last 5 seasons. Even in the season we made round 2, we lost to non-league Barrow at home. With Bromley doing so well, it has the potential for a shock result.

Regards Frankie Prince, he signed his first pro contract with us in December 67. Maybe it was a reserve game but I'm sure Frankie Prince gave Sunderland a right shiner. I think I was watching from the North enclosure at the time and I know that I watched the cup game from the Muller Road end.

Thanks for that GGMI. I see two men have been arrested and remain in custody. Disgraceful scenes and plenty of evidence for the police and authorities to work with. At least one in the crowd quite clearly identified and pointed out by several players and it would appear even the ref. The Yeovil poster also referred to the verbal and physical abuse aimed at the players and referee, saying how it disgusted him and should be stamped out. This is also true of the Gaschat forum abuse of Tom Nichols by some posters who should be ashamed of their behaviour.

Bromley last reached the 2nd round in 1946, let's keep it that way! Also their record attendance was against Nigeria... the wonders of Wikipedia

Eastville was packed to the rafters for the Arsenal match. Fans were halfway up the floodlights at the Muller Rd end. Was there. 34,000 as I recall. Dick Plumb missed a sitter. I was a young whippersnapper then and when I found out we were playing Arsenal I looked up all their team in my football annuals - thought it would be awesome to see George Armstrong and other legends at Eastville. Sadly my Dad couldn’t get tickets. Instead I went down to my grandparents house in Upper Eastville where we could hear the crowd and work out the score from that. Dick Plumb - remember him, think he scored a few that season before moving on. Sadly apparently not in that match.

Bromley have Mark Cousins in goal. The bloke who single handedly almost stopped us getting promoted when playing a blinder for Dag & Red. They've signed Ryan Huddart after Cousins picked up an injury recently in a game against Yeovil. Huddart is a former England youth international and made the bench for Arsenal in the Champions League. Decent keeper.
