Have been on twitter reading what dismayed City fans are writing about some of their supporters today. As a Bristolian football fan, I feel more in common with anti-racist City supporters than than any EDL supporting scum at the Mem. Sorry.

Looking at their forum they are refreshingly honest, I have regularly been embarrassed by some of our belter fans, we need to eradicate it from football. Shead! Just spat out my beer ffs never been called that 😂

Got to say this thread makes some terrible reading. "Joe Jordan's Teeth" and " Forest of Dean" really aren't doing the Teds any favours. Having said that there are a fair few condemning what's gone on.

On the same forum that racial abuse is condemned one of our own players is called a c##t. No one will ban this poster. We can sing 'When Matty dies we'll have a party' no problem. Abuse is abuse. While this disparity continues so will racism, until everyone is treated the same. Believe it or not we are all the same. Small minds need to be expanded or punished for abuse to every single person regardless of their skin colour, religion and sexuality.

Wow!
A football match is abandoned in this country, I think for the first time ever, because a player was allegedly racially abused.
I would say that is a sysmic event however it is measured. Yet a thread on this momentous occourance has only reached 2 pages after more than 12 hours.
And there are now snowflakes comparing racism, you know, abuse directed at a person because of their ethnicity, at them in person whilst they're playing football, with someone castigating a player for being useless at the thing he's paid handsomely for, on a forum.
Some perspective required I think.

But one as no real connection to Gasheads and is totally beyond our control, the other is related to a Rovers player who will no doubt be part of the squad this week who, if picked, by the boss will need our support.

Not surprising the way the country's being run at the moment. Sh*t like that trickles down from the top.

The problem we have here is now after yesterdays Yeovil game two fold and I think has been totally missed in this thread. Is abandoning a game where Yeovil had just gone 1-0 up the answer? I think not because in my opinion that is like stoking up the fire as it would if International teams walked off in a Tournament game against minnows like Bulgaria. I could maybe have understood it if Yeovil had been 1 down and their opponents walked off because of it and it was abandoned but to walk off at 1-0 down will surely only lead to further similar incidents where a team are 1-0 or maybe 3-0 down and their minority idiot fans (and we ALL have them) start making racist chants and comments to actually get the game abandoned! The answer has to lay with law and order and surely what should happened yesterday was that an announcement should have been made that any further racist incidents in the Yeovil end would result in the culprits arrested OR if the numbers were too great and impossible to identify then to empty the entire end and continue the game. I am sure the warning would have resulted in the majority turning on the minority. It is the fans that should be penalised not the teams! FIFA and the FA have it totally wrong and not for the first time. I hope the Yeovil or Bristol City fans who were guilty of this yesterday can look at themselves today and realise that they are the scums of this earth but I doubt they have the brains to realise that.

Sorry to bring this up but we had a section of our own support singing the name of the EDL leader, Tommy Robinson, at our last game with Luton. When challenged by a sensible and reasoned fan all he got was abused and told to * off and mind his own business.
Kettle, black........

Not really worth going into they said this, we said that with Sh!theads.
People will paint whatever picture they want.. to say "racism is our thing" show that the poster is clearly naive or lacks education. No doubt we do have some morons at the Mem but there will be a few down in Ashton too.
Racism is bigger than rovers vs city rivalry, so silly that fans will start try pinning it on another set of supporters, shame on any person who thinks it is acceptable.

Kettle, black........ he’s not the leader of the edl and he’s never actually been convicted of anything racist. He’s a hero to a lot of white working class kids. If they want to chant for Tommy it’s fine, I don’t see how that’s hurting anybody and it shouldn’t be compared to people getting racially abused to their face on a football feild!

He is very much racist and to try denying that fact is just wrong. People should be looking elsewhere for ‘hero’s’ I’m working class and could never want to be like that. The bloke is part of the problem in this country.

I would like to see proof of the racism instead of you just saying it. He left the EDL when it starting getting extreme.
