Ah, I have no work tomorrow........think I'll crack another beer. Judging by the number of posts on here I'm not sure you work anyway. 😀 Don't start on me Stuart. I am on wind down to early retirement, or so I thought until I was handed a mega project yesterday. I have had to take two days off to recover from the news of the assignment! When in work I have seven screens, so one is permanently on the internet. Work? Isn't that for the plebs?

Killer stuff by Neil: the Tories owe the working class a solid for voting for them but there are no policies in the Tory manifesto that help them.
Sums up this election and how awful Corbyn is perceived to be when you vote for a party that doesn’t give a sh** about you.

Well, a massive No once again to Left wing ideologies. We said the same 36 years ago and it will be the same for decades ahead. People like Momentum have ruined Labour and given huge power to the Tories, the only credible party standing in this election. A vote for democracy, reality and finally the truth as has come out, perfectly captured in the result of the completely delusional Swinson. Placards and bullying do not win elections, the ordinary person knows without having to listen to condescending extremists. The silent sensible majority have their way, finally let's get on with what the people wanted all along. My real hope is we get a credible, electable Labour party back, but at the moment we are a long way away.

He is on record as saying it should be a woman next time. Step forward Emily Thornberry, Yvette Cooper or even Rebecca Long-Bailey (although I'd only support Cooper). What about Diane Abbot? Perhaps she is being lined up as a future Chancellor?

SNP almost 100% The end of the Union Good luck to them, they were promised to remain in the EU for voting against independence and were double crossed by the Tories. I hope they leave. We shouldn’t let them leave - we should kick them out first.

Boris looks a bit drunk in his press conference. Can't blame him I suppose.
My mole's predictions were eerily accurate.
My own predictions of a minority government were hopelessly off the mark.
I think Labour, in hindsight, underestimated the number of Labour sympathising Leavers across the country. These people deserted the party in droves.

The very vocal minorities have been sniping, bullying and lying for the past few years. The silent majority have gone about their business and waited for this opportunity to use another democratic vote to voice their views. I hope the Fat Cat Union bosses keep their grip on Labour as this violent lurch to the far left has made them unelectable - egged on and fooled by the dimwit yobs gobbing off at the rally’s they really thought they had a winning ticket.
The opposition parties lies over upholding the referendum result has not gone down too well. The working classes don’t like being lied to, betrayed and taken for idiots. The vocal lefties in the work place, those given disproportionate airtime by the media and on social media/forums like this have played a part as well - a continual tirade of abuse and intolerance toward anyone daring to hold a different view. Perhaps a few on here will have learned a lesson in civility, if not carry on as you are and help achieve another anti-left landslide next time.

I was a bit worried through the day yesterday as I was hearing Labour we’re doing well. I cheered up when someone pointed out that it would soon be 5 O’Clock and all the people who work for a living would be arriving at the polling stations to put things straight 😀🍺

I will say one thing, Boris Johnson's victory speech this morning was his best one by far
What's the over/under on the first Boris 'Scandal'?

I think Labour, in hindsight, underestimated the number of Labour sympathising Leavers across the country. These people deserted the party in droves. Labour will now look inwards and try to lay the blame somewhere. Was it Brexit? was it Corbyn? was it their policies? was it the anti-semitism? In truth, it was a combination of everything, and when you put that whole package together it's not worth voting for. Good to see people like Gauke, Grieve, Soubrey & Woolaston lose. People like these thought they were morally superior to the electorate. This vote has shown that a second referendum would result in an even bigger majority to Leave. Forget about old people dying, young people coming onto the electoral register, people changing their minds......all of those arguments were just made up. The silent majority have been watching....and seething.....and last night they spoke. Has anyone seen Bercow's face when the exit poll was released? Priceless

Priceless It's done and dusted nobby, no argument now. Up to Boris Johnson to deliver because those seats they won can turn back easily enough at the next election if they don't follow through
that said
Interesting observation from Prof John Curtice. Votes for Remain parties: 52% Votes for Leave parties: 48%. But that's all over now.

and there is the problem. When Kinnock got rid of Militant he was able to do so because he still controlled the NEC. This time, Momentum have control of the NEC. It's a different ball game. I personally think that Momentum/Corbyn have damaged the Labour brand beyond repair. They have already lost the next election in 2024 because no party has ever overcome such a deficit. Maybe the moderates need to break away and start from scratch?
