This match started in near monsoon rain for all the first half, any other match in rovers history it would have been cancelled due to a flooded pitch. However a big thank you to Wael ( and the groundsmen ) for providing the best pitch that the Rovers have ever played on, its brilliant. Having read the Rovers official match report it falls a bit short of what I was watching. Believe it or not the Swindleton match report is a better reflection of the ins and out of the match www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/18034843.swindon-town-conclude-leasing-com-trophy-campaign-losing-fashion-bristol-rovers/I see 7 prem sides have gone through so any bets we draw them out of the hat so at least it will be a home game if that happenes

Think I have this correct
We are assured a home fixture in the next draw to play any of the following
Ipswich
Oxford
Orient
Coventry
Newport
Stevenage
Northampton I'll settle for a nice local derby with a little welsh club just over the boarder how about you?

Ollie Clarke needless yellow card for booting the ball away. Does this count towards his league bookings? If it does that's a suspension. Thought it was harsh. It was no more than a second after the whistle was blown. They're not given multiple seconds after the whistle blows normally.

If Tareiq Holmes Dennis didn't have the injury problems he has he wouldn't be a rovers player.
Id take having him for half a season at a time over not having him at all. He's that good. If he can stay fit for the rest of the season we will do well as he transforms the side. Leahy will have to hope GC opts for a duet with him and Tareiq. Might even be worth sending Kelly out on loan.
Thought despite the odd dodgy pass Rollin Menayese gave a good account of himself.

A fairly decent opening 15 where we could be at least 2 up, it has faded into a scrappy contest all over the pitch from both sides. Swindon are only here for minutes & we are lacking in any real intent in the final third. Another lacklustre half for the likes of Ollie Clarke and Bennett. The latter especially, doesn’t look at all interested. It’s time to hang up that blue & white quartered shirt and seek employment elsewhere in the New Year. We'll be sorry to see you go mate 😋

We started brightly but after TN missed his customary easy chance by feebly passing the ball to their keeper Swindon realised all they had to do was close us down like Bromley did at the weekend and they came much more into the game.
Bennett was by and large useless. Little didn't really impress apart from his goal, and Nicholls was as inept as ever when it came to scoring, but to be fair, some of his passing into space and switching of play was very good, but he wasn't bought for that. I reckon he fluffed 3 decent chances.
Rollin Menayase looked quite comfortable, although he wasn't up against the best, and Millwall Tone and Alfie were their usual reliable selves. Thought Ollie grew into the game, and JCH would only have benefitted from his run-out because he still looked rusty.
THD was a breath of fresh air, and exuded quality and class and we moved up a gear with his introduction.
I don't know what the crowd was, but there surely weren't more than 1500 there, but that awful bloody rain must have put quite a few off of going.

I was wet all the way thru before I got thru the Mem gates! The att at these games are a complete joke,as the cup itself has become. If they continute with the under 21s it should be scrapped. It awlful and going to a game in it feels like your watching a reserve match. The pitch tho is as good as anything outside the prem.Top notch.A few years ago that game would had been called off hours before it started.

I went, I watched, I got very wet, picked my scabs, i enjoyed and went home for a Hot shower to warm up
As for the football..... well dire except Tom Nichols who is still the best striker to play alongside JCH, who was crap
All 3 wing backs had good games last night, Bennett was utter utter DROSS

Still we won a game and progressed - ok crap weather, crap performance and crap gate but it still equates to more money, more opportunities more interest and hopefully more points in the league as our form really isn’t that bad

Bennett's just going though the motions but who can blame him really when he never plays in a league game. Rollin had a decent game and if Davies is still missing on Tuesday I'd be tempted to stick with him so we can play with wing backs.

But that's the problem Topper, he had 4 attempts at goal which didn't result in anything. From what I saw of Nichols last night, he looked ok though. JCH looked decent in his hold up play, but he didn't do much I agree, although he's clearly unfit. Bennett you can totally blame. Rollin doesn't play either, yet he comes into the squad fighting for a place as he wants to play. I didn't see any fight from Bennett at all, no interest in being in the starting 11. He needs to go ASAP, Pompey fans said when he moved here that he was a decent player who can lack quality but will always give you 100%. I agreed to a long time as he always gave his all, these. days though I don't see him giving anywhere near 100%

I guess Bennett knows whatever he does he won't be picked (and still get paid!) whereas Rollin is playing for his future.

I didn't go last night but was really heartened to read about THD. If we could only get him fit for 50% of the remaining league games. What a player! But as has already been said a fully fit THD would not be a Rovers player. He wouldn't be even playing in League 1.

What a gutter!
Swindon fans are allowed under cover and a Swindon Director pockets the 50/50 money.
He should have donated it back after the appalling way they treated our away support a few seasons ago.

Would rather avoid Ipswich in the draw, Apart from that i think it will be a easy passage.

That Includes dealings with West Midland and Thames Valley old bill.

Can remember some Swindon sister botherers were desperate for a row outside but everyone just wanted to go somewhere warm. Few Gasheads stood in their pants in a laundrette whilst drying their clothes!
