It's hard not to be a cynic, but it wouldn't surprise me if the board were waiting for some signings, positive stadium news and time lapse for fans to quieten down and everything revert back to normal

I really hope that we get news of some signings in the next day or two. Just had a look at the Conference League website, and lots of other clubs are already moving and shaking their squads.

Must admit, I always try and take a positive look at things, but even I feel am feeling twitchy now. Time does seem to be ticking by very quickly.

And suddenly all the pieces of the puzzle fall in to place. Bideford - a very trustworthy source of Rovers related gossip - reveals that we've agreed deals with no less than 4 players and that we are to hear on Monday (which would make perfect sense given it's the day most contracts end etc. Yet we hear nothing. So, what based on past experience can this mean? Now... let's think... whenever the board release bad news, it's always good practice in their book to release some good news first to take our minds of things and/or soften the blow. I'm willing to bet the stadium news is bad news and that our new signings will be announced on the same day as the statement/update regarding the UWE is released. My guess would be a morning of announcing player after player, followed by an afternoon of confirming that the UWE has been largely mothballed/placed on hold/called off all together. Probably the end of the week too - Thursday/Friday as our misery still needs to continue for some time yet. You heard it here first folks. |
