In theory it makes perfect sense but you only have to read this thread to realise that in practise its not a good idea. But do City have any youngsters that are capable of improving a top half league one team that they wouldn’t want to have in and around their own squad anyway? Without knowing too much about their set up I’d say it’s unlikely. Well semenyo, taylor, vyner and liam walsh but apart from those 4 no. PS semenyo was on loan at newport last season but is back at city now.

It's not rocket science, how many players are loaned between the 2 Sheffield clubs, Newcastle & Sunderland, Birmingham and villa etc

We will be a Feeder club when we move into the mighty Fruit Bowl... Do we automatically become a feeder club if we have loan players? So are we a feeder club for Barnsley or Sheffield United? UTG! Whoosh ......, the fruit bowl is just off Feeder Road lol

Lads, calm down I've worked it out. All we need to do is go down and support city when we are away. If they get more support they'll get more money, attract better players and we can get even more of their youth team on loan.

Well, that went down well. Perhaps because I don’t live in Bristol and haven’t done so for 40 years means I have a slightly different perspective on it. I would say if it gave us an advantage over our rivals in League 1 and we gained good quality players then I’d say ok. And if we got good quality players and our League 1 rivals didn’t get them then why not. After the last three years when the gap has got bigger we are definitely not a Championship club but things change and they are just one very bad season away from joining us in League 1 and we are just one very good season away from the Championship. And in the end I hope our owners, manager and anyone in charge of BRFC make decisions on the basis of what is best for BRFC. But I understand Bristolians might have a different feel to it! UTG! I haven't lived in Bristol for years, but have been an active supporter for almost 70. In that context, I have never been able to understand those fans who seem to be more interested in hating the s***, rather than supporting the Gas. This current spat seems to me to well illustrate the problem. To me, the key thing is whether a young City player would strengthen our team. If so, but as a consequence we improve him for them, I don't care. Unfortunately, I don't know which City young players, if any, would strengthen us, although I see Pirate has a suggestion. At 73 I grew up a long time ago, some of our fans still need some work on that process. Onwards and upwards Well I too haven’t lived in Bristol for about 40 years but I still really hate the red b*stards and think this idea is b*ll*cks.

However, what Widdrington is saying to me is he wants to set up an agreement with City to loan their players on a regular basis due to location among other reasons, which suggests we'll be their feeder club.

TW is clearly out of touch - with how childish and petty football fans can be.

Completely out of touch with the club. The thought of helping them makes my stomach churn. The rivalry is lost on non-Bristolians. He’s obviously fed up with travelling to Coventry.

Does he think we are in the season of good will already. He is having a laugh or is he totally out of touch with what football is to the fans. The rivally is all part of the game and if you take that away football will be all the poorer.

As much as I disagree with his comment and imo we should have fluck all to do with that lot, his recruitment in general has been pretty good. Someone needs to have a word in his ear and advice him although as an outsider from a different area it may seem logical to him..... it’s a flucking sh**e idea ! Otherwise.... keep up the good work 😃

What world do you live in. Are you saying because I don't live in Bristol I can't be a supporter, or, if I am, I can't understand the tension/animosity between supporters. I think that is out of order. I'm interested in what strengthens my team.
