What a farce. EFL trophy rules means we have to play x amount of regular players in games. Europa league tonight Astana have 300,000 applicants for tickets to see a Plastic Man Utd kids/reserve side.

Not sure if covered else where but I have just seen that Liverpool play villa in the league cup on a Tuesday not sure what date and play in the European super cup final glamourised friendly on the Wednesday, and have permission to play there youth team against villa.
The fa love twisting the rules if it involves money.

The europa league is just like most other cup competitions.
Unloved,poorly supported and messed about by TV companies.
Even big clubs have to charge very low entrance fees to persuade people to go to champions league group games.
Just wait and have a look at all the dreadful attendances at this sundays FA cup games.
Regarding the EFL rules surely all our little clubs fans want to help the england squad by playing our big strong men v premier league youngsters?

Never mind the fact that most premier league teams actually play less games than us.
They have 8 less league games, anyone not in the European cups will have 3 less games from the stupid trophy and they don’t enter league/FA cup until round 2/3 respectively.
Yet we will hear from every PL manager that “it’s too much” and “it’s not fair” because they only played 3 games in a week.

They have 8 less league games, anyone not in the European cups will have 3 less games from the stupid trophy and they don’t enter league/FA cup until round 2/3 respectively. Yet we will hear from every PL manager that “it’s too much” and “it’s not fair” because they only played 3 games in a week. Precisely Gassy. One of the biggest outrages of the new EFL Trophy format for me was that on top of having a 46-game league season, the powers-that-be decided to INCREASE the number of EFL Trophy matches in order to give the academy teams more matches. That on top of the fact that PL clubs have squads 2 or 3 times the size of some L1 and L2 teams. Truly disgraceful ignorance and shows that they only care and bow down to the elite, and think * em to clubs like us. |
