That is lunacy if so though. He's our CEO - we better not be paying him a fat cheque to show face in schools and attend a few charity galas. The fact that he was so dismissive is infuriating too. "It's not my job"... so? You have no idea on the progress?! The Bristol Rovers CEO is unaware of any stadium/training ground progress because it's "not within his remit". Absolute farce. That’s not what he said though was it. He knows what’s going on, He replied when being asked about the training ground, but it’s not in his job remit or rather he won’t be able to wear enough hats to negotiate an investment/sale/build a stadium. He physically won’t be able to run the club and do that at the same time. I would rather Starnes ran the club and stuck to what he knows best. Talk about a completely overly emotional reaction. If that is the case, WHO will deal with training ground and stadium? are you suggesting Mr Starnes is too busy or just not able? I find that strange for a professional CEO. And the conclusion must be that there is no-one in the Club currently dealing with those matters.

Mansfield Town Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Graham Coughlan as its new manager.
Mr. Coughlan joins the Stags after leading his Bristol Rovers side to fourth place in Sky Bet League One this season, just two points shy of second-placed Ipswich Town.
In his playing days, the 45-year-old featured as an uncompromising centre-back for the likes of Plymouth Argyle, Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham United and Shrewsbury Town, and won the PFA Second Division Player of the Year award in the 2003/04 season as well as three promotions.
His managerial career began as caretaker boss of Bristol Rovers in 2018, following the departure of Darrell Clarke.
In his five games as caretaker manager, Graham Coughlan saw the Pirates gain 10 points, lifting them out of the relegation zone.
He was appointed as permanent manager of the Gas in January 2019, where he held a win rate of 45% - losing just 13 of his 56 matches in charge - and leaves the club on the brink of the automatic promotion places in Sky Bet League One.
Graham Coughlan said: “This is a massive opportunity and a massive chance for me. The main attraction was the ambition of the chairman [John Radford].
“How he [John Radford] spoke, the ambition he was displaying, the facilities at the club, it was a tremendous and huge opportunity to take on a football club and try to get them promoted.
“I’ve gone across to the training ground [The RH Academy] and I think the facilities are better than a lot of Championship clubs’ facilities – they are very impressive.
“The opportunity to manage a club like Mansfield Town, with the ambition at this football club, the facilities, and of course to be able to be at home with my wife and kids, was an absolute mammoth attraction.
“I’ve been living in this part of the country for the best part of 20 years and it’s an honest, hard-working area – that’s what I am and that’s the background I’ve come from.
“That’s all we drummed into the players at Bristol Rovers. If you’re not honest and you’re not hard-working, you won’t have any place at this football club. We will be honest, we will be hard-working and we will wear that jersey with pride. That’s all I ask of the players.”
The Stags’ new boss will take his first training session tomorrow morning, before meeting the media at a news conference at One Call Stadium at 1pm.

My god, the facilities are better than most championship clubs.
Where does that sound familiar?
Oh wait I remember!

Entirely reasonable for a lower league club though surely. Agreed, but just sounds like they're setting us up for the inevitable. Not even talk of crazy money required etc. Agree. I would at least like us to sound like any teams wanting him will have a fight on their hands. I would be stunned and amazed if JCH is still here on Feb 1st. (Assuming that is when the window is shut from).

If the CEO isn't dealing with the Training ground situation and the stadium then we are not working on those things or he is a waste of money.

My opinion is that it’s impossible to know whether something is being worked on as I’m not someone who should know those sorts of details. I don’t BELIEVE anything is happening. That’s very different to your conclusion that because Starnes isn’t involved it means nothing is happening.

According to the B Post/Ali Durden the ALQ's are not directly involved in the Fruit Market development, assuming they've got there facts correct then why would our CEO be dealing with anything to do with that development, his job is surely to run the club not a development by a third party company?
Although he could just be lying and as managed to nicely deflected the question!

I see what you've done there.... You've subliminally called Hamer a Muppet.... Not everyone's pre-eminent literary reference is the Muppet Christmas Carol, you know. It's a great film, though. Even Michael Caine is quite good in it.

Whale said call it a fiver. I dont think we have a fiver spare do we? I reckon there's more spare cash in Parrot's FFSC piggy bank than the vaults of Dwane Towers.

At last, someone has fronted up. This saga is typical Gas though, manager gone now and it is for the best if he doesn't want to be here, i am expecting JCH at least follow in January. I simply have no belief in the owners of this club. Hopefully the Al Qadis will be off soon, more fiasco and disappointment like this one will follow whilst they are in control. But sold to who? For what? And what would their intentions be? [br

They have not made any improvements other than the bars and the pitch in almost 4 years. We will never be anything more than what we are currently with them in charge.

Not too long ago you were spouting your usual nonsense about the club not being involved with the stadium at all, specifically pointing fingers at Wael who was “trying to take credit”. Suddenly our CEO says he’s not involved with that side and now you’re slating him for not being involved. You can’t have it both ways. Can you not find a way to entertain yourself without bashing the club? Do you enjoy causing division? Do you enjoy encouraging hate towards BRFC? Grow up Roy and get behind the club for once ffs
