A textbook example of how not to impress your new manager.
Rodman’s decision to let the ball pass him by, allowing his man around the back to keep it in was amateur at best.
& then Victor.....
I’m still very much speechless at the pullback decision. A certain goal and chance to regain the lead.
The disallowed goal was also a criminal decision by the inept referee.

Am I the only one that cringes when our crowd sing Bristol .... we are coming for you? No and especially when you know their infrastructure is Orem ready but they keep bottling it. They lost, against the robins. Do I feel bad that they got to 2-2 then lose 3-2 ? Nah, will be a glum journey back for them. dont get me wrong I love it when they lose but for our fans to sing that really does make me cringe, even if we were in the same league as them let's face it we certainly are not anywhere near close, everytime we sing it we end up bloody losing

Glad he's seen our shortcomings which our recent run has masked. We don't score enough from open play, lack pace and creativity and 1 point from a poss six at home in our last two home games underlines our needs.Big window coming up and a few loans on their way hopefully.

I wonder if the crowds will come back after watching that performance Winning football is good football. Hope the Coughlan direct approach haters enjoyed today. I didn’t. UTG Never a fan of the man but after he shat on us I think we have messed up by moving so quickly, perhaps should have given Maher a couple more games- saw some nice tippy tappy football first half but it looked ineffectual for the most part bar a controversial disallowed goal. All in all we looked better against Peterborough and I worry we’ve upset the Apple cart too much with Garner.

UTG I'd take boring winning football all day long, I can se the second half of the season being disrupted by players coming and going during January and Garner changing our style of play to what he prefers which will make the players confused as they seemed to have a set way to play under GC. It's a shame as this division is very open for a lesser team like us to over achieve just like wycombe are doing but with this change in management I feel that the chance has been taken away from us.

A hint of negativity against Garner on here. It’s way too early to say anything at all. The bloke has had one training session and one team sheet to pick.
What worked for GC won’t necessarily work for BG. But that doesn’t mean BG can’t work with these lads.
Let’s have a chat after 10 games. We’re still within 2 points of the autos never mind the playoffs. We’re in a transitional state for at least the next 3-4 games. As I said the other week sh** time for GC to leave us.

I hope it’s a big window, because after that load of sh**e all 11 of them need to fit through it! I’m not one to moan but there was utter dross, I would say embarrassing but it wasn’t that good. Good luck Ben, boy are you going to need it. The most galling thing is if we won that game we would have been 2nd, not that we deserve it mind. Still mustn’t grumble, oh wait a minute..........UTG!

GC chose to walk out on us. His decision that dropped the club in it. Quite right that a new manager brings his own style and philosophy.Needs more than 1 game FFS. We could have easily lost that game under GC. Anyone remember Bolton at home?

One training session perhaps, but there was a definite difference in playing style to my eyes from the Peterborough game and unfortunately that is going to draw some criticism if it results in a defeat which it did. Any hope that Garner would be invisible for the first few games went out the window in the first half imo. Whatever we think, he is the manager now and that’s that. Don’t think there is anything wrong with being disappointed that things couldn’t have been given more of a chance to tick over though.

Jeez. One game and people already saying we should have kept Coughlan or Garner's messed this up. Get a grip! It's not even as if we changed the way we play or anything yet!
This team us not and never has been top 6 material. Hopefully this is the wake up call that will stop talk of promotion.
Get behind this manager and allow him to evolve this team the way it needs to be evolved. Coughlan did well in keeping us up, but that style if football can only take you so far.

It cant of been very easy on them with all the changes but that's our first defeat in 11 and as I previously mentioned I'd love to know what the manager said to them at half time?

Really disappointing defeat. Thought we looked quite decent in the first half but ran out of ideas in the second half. The JCH substitution was a poor one.
Too early to draw any real conclusions on BG but wasn't overly impressed by how passive he was on the bench. He's obviously a reflector and it'll be interesting to see whether that approach will motivate a group of men to get results.

I guess Garner will be looking for additions (not sure where money will come from). With Hare out for season and Little rarely fit I guess a right back is needed. If he plans to continue with three at the back then I guess a loan signing will be needed to provide cover for back three. He must look for a striker who can score at least 6 or 7 in the second half of season and a second striker if JCH is sold. Depending on formation he plan the there will be need for a creative central midfielder of left sided midfielder.

Sat back in the second half and created nothing, I thought Wimbledon were well worth their win in the end. We had no threat going forward after taking JCH off and the midfield completely lost their grip of the game.
Just really disappointing as we had a good crowd turn up and an opportunity to climb the table and yet we produced one of the worst home performance of the season.
Not going criticise Garner too much yet, it’s not his side or his tactics, he’s only been here for 3 days. We’ve got games coming up in quick succession, we’ll be able to judge him better after them.

Why the f**k was our perfectly good first half goal disallowed

Today was nowt to do with the new manager but everything to do with a squad who cannot seem to perform against teams at wrong end of table, it's been a problem for a few seasons now whoever the manager has been, Wombles were very poor and we gifted them 3 points, well it is Christmas after all!

If this was against one of the top sides I would be confident of a rousing performance in front of a bumper, passionate crowd but for some reason Rovers never seem up for games v so called weaker sides, hope new boss can get through to players that they have to fight to earn the right to the 3 points, no one will give them to us on a plate so please gas don't just take the field and expect to win ,make it happen, you are all playing to impress a bumper crowd and your new boss, approach the next 3 league games with the right attitude and we could really consolidate our exalted position, so come on Gas we can do this, but you have to make it happen! I well remember many crazy results over the holidays in the days you played the same team home and away, winning 5-0 at home and losing 5-0 away! as for today anything is possible, should be comfortable win but don't be surprised if we have to settle for a point! come on Rovers! And, In the same vein, if we score more than them we will win. Stunning insight...mm mm as I was saying!
