I think we need to chill a bit and be a little more realistic , at the moment with our squad we are at best a mid table division one team we have had a good run at the same time some of the “fancied” teams struggled, now it’s our turn to have a dip in form! Happy New Year 😀

This division is all over th place this season an literally anything could happen come May.
As for Ben Garner, It's Often Darkest Before th Dawn. Lets give th lad a bit of time.

in my opinion, we look a fast more mobile team when JCH isn't playing Interesting point that. JCH’s return has coincided with our decline. You might have a good point. I think it’s only worth playing him as a target man if your going to use him as one. Our possession play has completely changed since Garner took over but JCH is still standing there most of the time waiting for the big direct ball down the middle. To me it looks the formation and personnel haven’t changed but the way we try to move the ball has which is why the players look completely lost. I can understand why he’s kept the formation because the 3 center halves had formed a great understanding and were keeping clean sheets before he arrived but now that our midfield are constantly giving the ball away trying to play a way that doesn’t seem to either suit them or they’re not good enough to do the back three are constantly under pressure which is causing mistakes. It’s all a bit of a mess really that was our worst performance out of the three and the other two were pretty poor too, people will say point at Fleetwood but they missed loads of great chances and we could have lost that 3-0 too.

It’s not been pretty all season, but we have played to our strengths, have been very difficult to beat & got results. The last 3 games has not been good & we haven’t got results. We have relied on defence & our goalie a lot & with an old guy marshalling two young kids, with a quick turnaround of games, there is always going to be set backs, especially if you lose an inspirational keeper with injury. Not going to moan about the manager yet, as its still very early & in a way a good thing to start in this way considering our position at the right end of the table. We will find out over the next few weeks how BG handles the situation, he definitely has the theory but whether he has the skills to transfer this to the players or indeed the strength to impose his ideas on the ‘senior’ squad members is something we will find out over the rest of the season. Let’s see how the owners support him over the next month, see who he can bring in during the window & who he can keep & get fit. I think the second half of the season is likely to be an experimental one & hopefully we will see the benefits of his ideas next season.

Posted similar. Played loads of games lately. Cup replays, trophy games etc, before the busy Christmas period. The trophy game next week, won't help!! Still playing 2 games a week and getting no rest. Could have done with going out of one of the cups. All catching up with the squad now. So why start with the same starting 11 today, why not bring in Kelly, Hargraves & Adeboyejo, even Bennett & Russe? Why play JCH in every game when GC never did? Anyway it seems weeks ago since we played Swindon reserves in an EFL Trophy game, how can that have any effect over the festive period? We played Orient since then in it. It meant we didn't have a free mid week. Plus the 2 cup replays. Obviously the other player's are not upto it. GC didn't play many of them either. Adeboyejo, is the only one that got a game and his confidence has gone. Smith is injured, or he might have played.

Disappointing to hear people giving new manager stick 3 games in.
Having watched the match on ifollow, it did look like a tired performance with what is arguably our strongest team.
The players need to step up and take responsibility, blame cant be solely with the manager when we lose games.
Hoping Ben is backed by Wael in January.

Some good observations and I totally agree. Especially the Fleetwood game. I watched the second half and even by our standards it was total one way traffic and a home win would have been fully justified. The pattern I’ve discerned from Wimbledon and today is that we play the ball on the floor more in the first half then seem to resort to desperate hoofing as the game progresses. We look more threatening with the ball in the air as it seems to unsettle defences and should be highly effective but under Garner we seem unable to win any knock downs or to get on the second balls so it ends up being an even more useless tactic than trying to pass it through our midfield. Garner has magically turned one of Coughlan’s strengths into a weakness. It’s certainly an inauspicious start and I think he wasn’t being entirely honest when he claimed that he was mostly aiming for continuity. It seems a pretty drastic departure so far, to my eyes.

I don't think people realise how hard it is to play so many games in such a short space of time - The players looked very tired today reinforcements are needed and players to get off the treatment table - as for the T.W.A.T.S calling for Garners head already you need to find the nearest mirror and take a hard look at yourself and brush your teeth because you are talking a lot of sh**

I see where you’re coming from, but the stats are stark: these players were unbeaten in 11 until the new manager.’a first game. Now we can’t win for toffee and we aren’t playing world beaters either. It’s very hard not to conclude that a change in the back room staff has had a significant bearing on our poor Christmas run even if tiredness and injuries are also a factor.

Jacc likely to be out for 6 weeks dislocated shoulder, gutted, star man of late. Is this been confirmed? I would of thought a dislocated shoulder would be 4 months in a contact sport. Terrible news if confirmed..

Because we've been totally outplayed for the last 2.5 games, two of which were v relegation candidates, Garner's now saying it wants to change the dynamics of the squad so that means a big upheavel, assuming Wael's even going to back him in the transfer market. Why does he want to change a winning team into a loosing team we have only gone downhill since he arrived, even with interim managers we were picking up good points

Excuses. It's Xmas. There's always loads of games, other teams have to put up with it too. You just get on with. The performances since BG has come in have been awful and we look a very different side already, and not in a good way. Fleetwood performance was the only one that in anyway resembled how we have looked the rets of the season. We were totally outplayed by Fleetwood and could have lost that game 3-0 if Evans had taken his chances/Madden's decision had gone the other way. Wael's brought in BG to play a different style of play he now needs to back him in January with some quality signings but I won't hold my breath he will, probably using the usual salary cap nonsense to explain the lack if signings. The salary cap isn't nonsense. It's still being taken up by DC's bad signings. Most of us would have taken staying up at the start of the season, because of that. We could have lost the Fleetwood game, but we could have won it. We could have won today, if the keeper didn't go off early. If Leary would have scored, or Nichols, or JCH when they had chances at 0 0 and 1 0 it could have been a different game. You can twist anything like that. We still got a decent point at Fleetwood. Garners change at half time got us back in the game today. But after starting the 2nd half well, we got hit on the break and it was 2 0. It wouldn't have been if Jakola was playing IMO. Looked an easy save, but he dropped it.
