Kilgour’s not a right back and Menayese is really struggling to hold his own in a back four.
Garner needs to bring on Davies at half time for Bennett (who’s had a shocker) and play a back 5 in the second half if he’s fit.
On the bright side I like the look of Barrett.

Do we have the new Mr Tinkerman I do hope we revert to our more known and comfortable shape for the 2nd half I don’t blame Garner for tinkering with the tactics tonight, he’s got a squad that he’s unfamiliar with and on paper it’s a good chance to rest players and change the system against a league two side at home. Sadly it hasn’t worked so far and I hope Garner realises this and changes it up at half time. |

Got to give the manager a chance to work these things and try these things out his way though and this is the game to do it. Didn't he say in a recent interview hes been watching us for a while? Playing players out of position is a school boy error. Maybe he wants to play four at the back and until we either bring in a right back or Hare comes back he thinks Kilgour could do a job there and this game will be a way of finding out. Other than that I can’t see that anyone is out of position and kilgour has been solid down that side and brought the ball forward well. |

I mentioned In a previous thread that Benno was a bigger waste of budget and squad space than Nichols and got shot down! For my money he has been woeful for us and looks tonight to be proving me right. Utterly useless. Let’s hope Garner is as ruthless with him as he has been with Tom.

Chap from Wolves looks light weight. But switch ball to a rodders could be useful.

Stevenage have now missed two easy tap in in front of goal! Watching every game this season under Coughlan tells him only a part of what these players will play like under him in his and way in his formations. Two different managers with different styles surely you don’t need that explaining. |
