Engaged to Alexandra Burke apparently. Maybe she can sing at half time! I think she binned him and is with a Hull City player now. Look forward to seeing him in the quarters.

Ignoring the pathetic and aggressive comments by those with malformed emotional development, I think all the signings are very interesting, including this guy. Under GC's reign safety first saved us last season but actually was a blind alley for the future. Given the new manager has been in place for such a short period, signing younger players with pace and a fair pedigree (for our level) fits into exactly what he said. That it has happened so quickly leads me to suspect that conversations were happening some time before GC walked away, quite possibly because he found out.
Either way that event is behind us, these signings are far more interesting than much that has occurred over the last 2 years.
My opinion, for what it's worth (not a lot) is that we look to build a playing method incorporating the new pace, see which of the current squad can play like that and go for it. That may take a season, perhaps more, but is it not important keep our eyes on the longer term rather than just the last or next match?
It appears to me Mr Garner has signed some interesting players, more interesting than for a while.
Let's roll with it.

Rover sign Messi, comments on gas chat "he's past his best", "I think he'll be too light weight for league 1"

Sounds promising.
Scored 4 goals in 25 appearances (21 starts) for Walsall before signing for Preston so did okay at this level and should have a good understanding with Leahy. Don't know too much about him but he turns 23 in March so should be a player that's improving all the time and ready for some regular first team football.
Should give us more options going forward which we definitely need.
Get O.Clarke and Ogogo fit, sign a decent strike partner for JCH and things should start to look a lot brighter.

He's young with lots of experience. Held in high regard by many supporters of former clubs. Give the guy a chance! I do recall that JCH was lambasted on this forum before he had even played a game. Then he becomes a hero! Similar to Sir Rickie, remember him, shocking when he first arrived ended up scoring against the sh1t & playing foe England.

This forum is awful lately. Tonnes of new posters propping up with horrendous attitudes, need piping down a peg or they can head back to Facebook... On topic: great signing on paper for me, hope we pull it off. Very true You can tell a new so called fan a mile off, expect us to win every game ,sign messi and sack everyone if they don’t, A real gashead is glad he’s watching rovers In Bristol not bath and happy to be midtable in league 1 on a shoe string. “Sack garner because he wears a cap” “Wael must go as with his money we should be in the premiership by now” “8 injuries and a game every 3 days isn’t an excuse” “Bring back GC as their trying to play football now and we won games playing his sh** football “

Like the majority of players we sign, I know next to nothing about him but he'll have my support and I'll be thinking of a cheesy song for him in no time.
How did you all use to write off players before you even saw them play in the 70s and 80s? Carrier Pigeon? tbh imo we simply had better players in the 70s.

Meanwhile Salford have just signed Bruno Andrade from Lincoln How they get round the ffp Their billionaire owner is probably happy to write off "donatations" rather than pay tax on his earnings. I'm hoping for a Salford v Accrington EFL Trophy Final when less than 5,000 fans turn up!

But to be very honest over the last two years signings have left me underwhelmed as I could not see the game plan. I really liked DC but felt his recruitment was scatter gun, left me with no idea of where he was going with them. This feels like a plan.

Absolutely I wonder when Brendan Rogers managed his first club whether the fans were questioning the fact he wanted to play expansive football in the opposition's half, with young energetic skilfull talented kids 😂😂😂😂 can t win anything with kids under 15 stone 😂

Yes, but Jaakola turned out okay, so goal scoring record isn't everything 😁 Plus he's a winger, who are usually goal makers not scorers, christ if he's almost good enough for Preston in the Championship he must be better than Bennett. Although that do posters expect we're going to spend £100K+ on a winger? We don't sign any pacy wide players - fans moan, we sign pacy wide players - fans moan before they've seem them play! Craig, Anssi, JCH, Hare & Ogogo were all written off by some fans and they've all turned out OK. Don't forget Leahy, he was completely written off by one regular poster. You know the guy who's never wrong, some Walsall fans had told him he was cr4p!

What are the chances of this becoming a permanent deal after the initial loan? He looks a promising signing but I’m not a huge fan of having too many loanees
