With a new keeper, Ollie Clarke and Tom Davies potentially returning I'm optimistically hoping we can grind out a good 0-0 draw. UTG Pretty sure Clarke and Davies was on the pitch when we let in the third at Rotherham! If we don't at least put on a decent performance on Saturday not sure where we go from here as none of the next 3 games look any easier. Down the table a couple more places. FFS everyone chill, we are going to win on Saturday. f**k Barton, UTG!

If you get paid on the 27th of the month, then the 27th of December was since Christmas NHS payed before Christmas then nowt till Jan 27th, easy really. Really, that seems a bit odd. Paying early for Christmas is good I suppose, but as you say then you have a very long wait for the net payday. Can't imagine many firms do that - we were always paid on the 20th of the month where I worked until they kicked me out and I retired a few years back.

It’s been constant turmoil at the club since Coughlan left. He was the only captain at the club ( bar probably Craig) steering the ship. No leadership at the top and a new and young manager taking over with a family illness which has obviously taken its toll. We will come good again we just need to ride these stormy waters and the Pirates will be back on good stead, aarrrh . UTG.

Ollie would not be in my starting 11 and what with the new boys and those returning from injury, picking a starting 11 is no easy task , hope Ogogo and Tom start and if we had anyone else i would rest JCH but he has to play along with Reilly i hope! 3-1 Rovers and we have lift off again, good luck Ben and team!

This is the new manager bounce version 2, but this time BG isn't coming in cold, has the measure of the squad and, if he's the coach we are told he is, should be able to get a result. If you put aside our recent results as if they don't count, which I'm choosing to because I want to, then we are more than capable of three points.
I want to believe and therefore it will be a 3-2 win.

We've hardly done great in his absence, given we're yet to score a league goal in 2020 then I can't see we can do any worse with him in the side?

I'm going to stick my neck out and say 1-0 to Fleetwood in the red card tally.

Our only league goal since our 2-1 win at Ipswich 6 weeks ago (14th December) was a VERY soft penalty against Wimbledon on Boxing Day.
0-0 Peterborough 1-2 Wimbledon 0-0 Fleetwood 0-3 MK Dons 0-2 Doncaster 0-3 Rotherham
We also failed to score in the cup games at Coventry in the replay and at home to Stevenage.
So we've only found the net in 2 of our last 9 games. 3 goals in total, 2 penalties, 1 VERY soft.
I've watched some poor Rovers teams over the years but I'm struggling to remember a worse run in terms of goals scored, shots on target and chances created.
Can we turn things around tomorrow? I'll be going more in hope than expectation.

Hadn't thought of the payroll function - must put a strain on the household budgeting then. Hoping for a good win tomorrow to get everyone through to pay day in a good mood.

It looks as if the the manager wants to play a 4-5-1 formation or variant on that so it will be interesting to see who he picks and leaves out.

...but they will have been paid twice within around three weeks prior to Christmas.

By the time we kick off, we wouldn't have scored a league goal in 30 days. If we fail to score, it will have been over a calendar month. When was the last time that has happened? (Apart from summer, before all the smart arse comments come out )

Overall, a good interview. However, I am extremely concerned about his comments on recruitment. With Nichols being told he can move on, we only have JCH & Reilly. Saying, "we're still active in identifying areas where we want to improve" is quite frankly not good enough IMO. On the 24th of January I expect us to have targets that we want to bring in, it's just a case of bringing the right one in for our play/wage etc.

They will be actively working on targets they want to bring in without doubt.
