Watching the Shrews vs Liverpool game and Curtis Jones and Neco Williams impress me. As regards Sharp, an experienced forward who can still get in behind is exactly what we need IMO. I’m not saying we could or would sign him but I’m sure he will be on the radar of lots of clubs in our league. Both outstanding prospects for Liverpool, but can't see them dropping on loan to League One. Sharp? No chance!

Protected the ball when needed and was able to carry it forward well as well being able to pick a pass. Deservedly MOTM.

Sad really that after one dodgy season, when he had major personal issues to deal, with we tufted him out. I'd be presently surprised if we managed to sign his natural replacement this window.

Often the case with Rovers that we let someone go and fail to replace them with better or someone in a similar mould.

Yes. A team who are desperate to bring someone in on the last day will pay over the odds, happens every year not off of us we’re a soft touch We aren’t though, we robbed 750 grand for Ellis. It happened with two players, historically we’ve always got over the odds

It happened with two players, historically we’ve always got over the odds 750k for Ellis, but Accrington got 1.7m from Ipswich for another striker that only had one decent season in the basement division. The previous regime weren't much better. I said it at the time, we were mugged by Southampton for Lambert.

Never seen the Accrington lad play so cant comment on his fee

Brilliant piece of business with all the add ons too. I think it totalled £2.5m in the end. The first offer we received from Southampton was £750k.

If so not too bad then all things considered, but even then it could have been more. I thought the initial £1.1m was too low.

Billy Sharp has been told he can leave Sheff U. Defo won’t go to a premiership club. At 32 probably would end up at a bottom half championship club but he would defo have a good 18 months in L1. Wages might be a problem though. Absolutely no chance of him coming to us. Some of our fans never fail to amaze me!

Sadly we’re stuck with Bennett as he won’t leave unless his contract is paid up and that won’t happen so unless we loan him out and some of his wage is paid until his contract finishes then he’s not going anywhere. JCH clearly wants out and for me I’d be happy to cash in on him as it will upset the team spirit with a player in your starting line up every week clearly not wanting to be here and the more his attitude and form stays this way we’re losing money on his valuation.

All told we got around £2.5m total.

That's going to be hard as other than Harrison the last player we sold was Michael Smith about 5 years ago? It's irritating Locks is now a Championship regular probably worth £1m+ but we got nothing for his services, although it looks like Lyle Taylor is now doing the same to them.

Nichols is going nowhere sadly. The magic "stats don't matter" dust doesn't seem to be working at any clubs outside of Rovers. Your obsession with running down Nichols constantly is getting weird. I think your obsession with trying to make my opinion on football some sort of personal problem with the player is even weirder.

Ins A couple of Strikers, maybe on loan like: Folarin Balogun (Arsenal), Ryan Edmundson (Leeds), Ryan Cassidy (Watford), George Hirst (Leicester), Jamie Soule (West Brom), Jay Stansfield (Fulham), Ellis Simms (Everton). A Right Back like Luther Wilson from Stevenage, or someone on loan like: Ethan Laird (Man Utd), Vontae Daley-Campbell (Leicester), Kayne Ramsay (Southampton), Jude Russell (Crystal Palace), Cody Drameh (Fulham), Henry Lawrence (Chelsea), Cameron Coxe (Cardiff). A deep lying playmaker like George Glendon from Chester, or someone on loan like: Dylan Levitt (Man Utd), Miguel Azeez (Arsenal), Jake Cain (Liverpool), Harvey White (Tottenham), George Moncur (Luton), Callum Slattery (Southampton), Joe Adams (Brentford) these names just roll off the tongue, don't they ? Hundreds of games experience too !
