How To Land Yourself In The Sh1t. So, Corbyn's mob have reported Sir Kier Starmer's mob for accessing a database which holds all the details of their members. Corbyn's mob to the Information Commissioner's Office: We'd like to report a data breach. (that'll teach the buggers) ICO: Who and where. Corbyn's mob: It was Sir Keir Starmer. (high fives, we've got them now!) ICO: Who is legally responsible for the data? Corbyn's mob: Um...err...we are. ICO: So, they accessed personal data for which you are legally responsible for? Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention. ICO: You could have a fine of up to 15 million quid heading your way! Sky News

Please let the Labour party continue to be run by these clowns for many decades to come.

I fail to see the funny side of having such a shambles as opposition to government.
Regardless of ones political leanings, lack of meaningful opposition is terrible for democracy.

You have to laugh at them though Hugo. It appears that they just have not learned the lessons of the last election, so therefore you have to laugh, you have to mock them, as only then they may change. Don't forget around a third of the voters voted for them but as a political party they are becoming irrelevant.

I think we are all so happy that this lot aren't in power. Regards democracy they aren't that either, but yes it's true what you say

If you made up a story about the inept way this opposition are run nobody would believe you. But, as it often is, fact is stranger than fiction. Whilst you can see the humour in it the reality is less funny for everybody esp the more vulnerable people. In the end you want the best government you can get. But with an opposition that is incompetent it means that the government is rarely held to account and they then gain a sense of entitlement, a feeling that they can “do what we want” and with the huge majority they have BJ and his London-elite believe exactly that. So whilst I have no desire to see Corbin and his supporters anywhere near power I do hope we get an opposition who looks faintly competent and who can hold this lot to account because behind all the smiles and rhetoric of this government there are some very unpleasant politicians who I wouldn’t trust to tell me today is Wednesday. (It is btw!)

(It is btw!) The strength of opposition to a party, or people, is measured at the ballot box. If the opposition party are pathetic, which they have been under Corbyn, it does not follow that you then vote for the Government. I smiled and then recoiled in horror yesterday at the report, a follow up report, which showed life expectancy in retreat, especially among women, in the northern areas of England. The same group of people who voted back in the government that caused this through their austerity measures. You could laugh about Turkeys' voting for Christmas but it's not funny. But you do not vote for them and watch people's quality of life deteriorate around you, surely? It's all very well laughing at these idiots, but there are real life consequences

But you do not vote for them and watch people's quality of life deteriorate around you, surely? It's al It is all rather confusing eh? One minute we are living longer so apparently we need migrants, and the next the life expectancy is shorter! Therefore, you must agree with the policies to reduce immigration now? After all, we don't need so many do we if everyone's dying younger. Your report also fits in with your dream of re-joining the EU. After all, didn't you claim that it was only due to the old folks that Brexit happened? Surely, if they pop their clogs quicker you can get on with the campaign to re-join with the younger folk backing you up? Now, I don't know how they measure this life expectancy malarky, but I bet it is not measured on something like a 5 or 10 year cycle which makes your claim that it's 'all the fault of the Tories' just a tad hysterical don't you think?

OOps, and there you go Oldie. The report you mentioned has been written by a far-left Labour bod... "The BBC is lathering coverage over a new report claiming that austerity caused a slowdown in the rate of increase of life expectancy. This slowdown is not a new finding, it has been discussed for years and is the reasoning behind the “130,000 deaths from austerity” lie. The problem is that whilst left wing academics try to link it to austerity, the same slowdown in life expectancy growth has been true in Portugal, Hungary, Spain, the Netherlands and France — not just the UK." Another dodgy report
Oh well, another of your sensationalist headlines comes a cropper.

Despite all this bad news after 10 years they still got elected and you’re correct oldie the strength of the opposition can be gauged at the ballot box and this opposition was woeful. Whoever wrote the report on life expectancy may be suspect as to their leanings but there’s a sense that we can all see what’s happened over the past 10 years and there are enormous regional variations and life for many people has not improved. The waiting times on the NHS, stagnation in wages for a large number of workers esp those in the middle and at the bottom, the supply of housing is way behind the demand and younger people do not have the opportunities that we had to get our own houses even if they have jobs and work hard. Life for some has improved but for a large minority it has got worse and the Labour Party have been awful over the past 13 years in not meeting the needs of this group. I hope that the “bonhomie” that BJ is displaying is translated into meeting the promises he made and that lives of all people will improve. I hope the opposition becomes stronger over the next 10 years than it has been over the past 10 years. Any government needs to be challenged and questioned meaningfully, something lacking in the past.

Oh well, another of your sensationalist headlines comes a cropper. Guido, really? Their report didn't say he was a Labour supporter, just that he "worked" for Gordon Brown. Quite a leap as it was only him being commissioned to write the original report in 2010. It also states he is far left because he has called for taxes to go up and written for the Guardian, hardly FAR left is it. Incidentally, even the link in the article to a piece by the IEA is one written in 2019 based on ONS figures and not this report so is addressing a different thesis. That's twice recently you've linked a Guido article that doesn't stand up. 😋

Turning back to Labour, looks like Keir Starmer as leader and Angela Rayner as deputy.
Shame it has dragged out so long, we need a better opposition and quickly to keep the Government on its toes.

Blame the messenger and quote some loony blogger.

The loony blogger you refer to doesn't really write much nowadays. He has a very good team that updates the website. You really need to take off your blinkers.

People I speak to just laugh when that blog is mentioned. As you are such an avid reader of their blogs, perhaps you could tell us?
