He needs to know how to play the ones he has got ! Clarkeson Muhamed, Richards have all done well since leaving last season. Our Top scorer has 3 goals! We were never going to keep Mohammed. we should have moved mountains to get him

I'd be interested to hear from someone who was there. Did we create chances that were missed? In which case we need a striker, or two. If the chances weren't created we need someone who will create them. Hopefully the young lad from Fulham will get a game on Saturday. I don't think the commentary overlooked we were missing loads of chances? I think DC got it wrong and should have started with LDV. Although why he didn't sign an experienced centre forward in the summer is a mystery.

agree in general but after talking about getting a striker for several months now, and regularly feeding us crap about the latest potential signing who didn't come to us/bid turned down/won't move/too expensive/convicted killer, what on earth makes you think DC will find anyone in the next 3 days? Luck and chemistry, mate. Luck and chemistry. Clarkson, Mohamed and Richards all wanted to stay on. What would we give now for their services . DC would probably still have them on the bench in favour of Taylor.

We just seem stale up top. Didn't even sound like we really looked like doing anything. We rode the wave of goals from the midfield for too long and now we are paying the price. No siree we wont be going places this season unless we fix it and we wont fix it. Noone ever gets a striker mid season that's any good. Attachment Deleted

Just didn't pay off tonight.

5 points from our last 3 away games. Decent return? That form with a return to winning ways at home should see us in the playoff places at Xmas then who knows what will happen in jan with regards to strikers Then again that's 1 goal scored in our last 4 games, we're not going to win home games if we can't score. I'm not even sure DC can sign a decent striker as he's already brought in Taylor, White, Cunnington & Balatana. I've got us down as scoring 8 in the last 4 games and 3 in last 4 league games.

That. Sounded. Dire.
On the plus side though, all our rivals at the top seemed unable to take all 3 points tonight too.
I would say that a lack of creativity against a well organised team seemed like the main issue tonight, as opposed to poor finishing from our strikers as in previous matches.
Still a winger, creative central midfielder and goalscorer away from promotion. IMO.

So only really Grimsby gained on us above us.

Taking the positives, we are a point closer to the top! Our game in hand is coming up and we play Barnet at the end of the month!!! You never know!
The more teams breathing down Barnets neck can only keep the pressure on them!!!

Before the game I was going to post "3-0 win if Lucas plays ... but he won't ... 0-0 any other striker" ... but I didn't because I thought if you have nothing positive to say then don't say anything at all.
Miffed with 0-0 ... but no serious damage done. We live to fight another day ... but fighting with one armed tied behind the back until DC can sort out the forward line.

That as well. Fed up with this underachieving nonsense. It's bad enough having to try and spell these teams, but drawing a blank against them in front of 800. jeez. So embarrassing. 4th in the League, but no way does the Conference live up to the hype of being as good as League 2. This should be a cake walk. There for the taking and we not doing it.

Poor performance. It is all well and good blaming the forwards but we didn't create a chance this evening. Alfreton played for a point, fully aware that we weren't going to score. The frustrating thing is that this league is very, very poor. A little bit of quality would see us surge back into the football league. The only positive tonight is the new kid. He came on and played on the right and looked tricky and direct. Not many full backs in this league would he able to handle him.

My only problem with that is a lot of people say how you need a big powerful striker up front at this level.
