Blackman 7.5 M.o.M a couple of good saves, kicking a bit wayward but the wind didnt help. Kilgour 6.5 not up to his usual high standard Menayese 7 decent Craig 7 the pick of the defence Leahy 6 the usual Leahy game, he doesnt inspire me. Upson 5 he's gone to pot since Garner arrived Clarke 5 ditto Upson Sercombe 6 the pick of a poor midfield Ginnelly 5 provided little Clarke-Harris 6,5 battled gamely but with no service could achieved little Mitchell-Lawson 5 ditto Ginnelly Subs: Abraham 4 no where near league standard yet. Daly 7 he showed skill, energy and a desire to get the team moving, he must start next week. Rodman N.o.l.e Crowd 7 nearly 7000 poor sods were bored,cold, fed up and I think most would vote for a change now. Ref 7 good Shrewsbury 5.5 ok but we made them look better than they are. |

Oh dear.
This is about as awful as it gets.
I thought our defence including keeper was best of a bad bunch, yet no one challenges for the run or shot that won then the game!
If that doesn't make sense, then neither does the starting line up, persisting with one striker up front format, the obligatory sub on 69 mins (only this time they inconveniently scored in that minute....but we still got the sub in anyway), the refusal to play players signed...and when you do play them, play then out of position?
But hey, we'll do it all the same way next week!

Blackman 7.5 m o m two great saves, one albeit hit straight at him.
Kilgour 7 almost scored again, this time with header with (at that time) only shot on goal....good performance but deservedly carded.
Menayese 7.5 nice. Unlucky to be booked for a 50/50 header because his opponent came worse off.
Craig 7 steady.
Leahy 6.5 beaten quite easily.
Upson 4.5. shadow of player pre December.
Clarke 4 slow, ponderous, lacking of idea and leadership. Should be dropped as shirked responsibility.
Sercombe 5.5 tried to inspire, but methinks brought back too quickly.
Ginnelly 4 was he playing?
Clarke-Harris 5 sulky kid.
Mitchell-Lawson 4 was he playing?
Subs: Abraham 4 specials sang do nothing. Ode to you, TimmyTammy.
Daly 6 tried some.
Rodman nole.
Crowd 10 for turning up for nonevent! In reality,3. Poor atmosphere.
Ref 8 I actually thought not too bad and got bookings correct (except Rollin) and most decisions spot on.
Shrewsbury 4.5 that were there for the taking today and our starting tactics and set up was again all wrong. They should have scored 2/3 before they did! We were beaten by a poor team because we can't play as a team.

Blackman 7 MoM Kept us in the game with some excellent saves, looks assured behind a pitiful team.
Kilgour 5 Battled hard, but nowhere near his best
Menayese 6 Pick of the defence
Craig 5 Got turned a couple of times but otherwise had a fair game. Passing a bit wayward
Leahy 5 Average
Upson 3.5 Useless in midfield, did not offer much.
Clarke 3 More than useless did not offer anything
Sercombe 4 Ran around a lot without getting anywhere.
Ginnelly 4 Lightweight knocked off the ball to easily
Clarke-Harris 5 Another frustrating afternoon
Mitchell-Lawson 4 Another lightweight knocked off the ball to easily
Subs: Abraham 3.5 Unfortunately did not offer much.
Daly 4 Maybe a good signing

Crowd 3 Subdued for most of an extremely boring frustrating afternoon, who some took their frustration out on BG at the end.
Ref 5 Took to long to get play going at times, but got most things right.
Shrewsbury 5 Poor side but better than us, and deserved to win.

Outfought, out thought and outplayed by a team who hadn't won or scored in their last 3 away games, let that sink in. If not for our goalkeeper the scoreline would have been a lot worse. We were at home against a team on a run nearly as bad as ours and our keeper was our standout mom!
