Have taken the decision to put all staff at the club on notice, making 60 employees redundant due to the impact of the Coronavirus.
Sad to see another football club in trouble, we had a great battle for the title with them back in 14/15.

Makes you wonder as the weeks turn in to months, how many other clubs will get in to trouble too?
Southend & Macclesfield were having trouble before CV, so I suspect a few might have troubles!

It's not really just a football club in trouble but the whole UK entertainment business now in big trouble, as what's the point in employing non football related staff for the next few months? It makes you wonder what entainment businesses will still be around post CV.

The sad part is that it's probably the non-playing staff who earn the least money and will struggle the most to get a job.

I don't like to mention city, but if gets bad, can't players just tear up their contracts as the Ashton 8 did in 82.... Would surely be counter productive for players to stay at clubs waiting for them to fold, and also fewer clubs would mean fewer jobs for professional footballers.... www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38750475

After June 30 or July 31st for those who can't get another club, we won't be paying out of contract players anyway. So what happens to them? If it's right that each premiership club gets £90m + per season, let them each give a million of that to a pool to equally share with league 1&2 clubs. That would be just over £400,000 to each club, which would keep most if not all of them going for the immediate future. If necessary a caveat could be applied that it can only be used on wages throughout the club and not for ground improvements or purchasing of players.
Why not championship clubs? Well, they get 7 times what lower league clubs get from TV, so should not be in anything like the trouble others are. That's allowing for how bloody daft some of them are e.g Derby and Rooney.

Although who's going to offer them anything like the money they are presently earning at Rovers when there could be 100's of footballers looking for new clubs once football restarts, which will now probably be next August/September at the earliest.

Its a difficult one to call, but at rovers I'd imagine our season ticket holders make up more than most other clubs average attendance, although that's just an assumption.... One things for sure that the most expensive tickets in the east and west stand are all season ticketed and sold out every year, so 'hopefully' we might have enough prepaid income to keep us going.... Again, just an assumption....

That's like suggesting why doesn't RIchard Branson share some of his fortune with his staff he's just put of unpaid leave, good in theory but not something likely to ever happen. As far as Championship club's most are £m's in debt, Villa alone lost £85m getting promoted last season, you do wonder how most of them will survive themselves let alone be in position to hand over money to L1 clubs.

Sunak and Johnson promise £330 billion to back up economy, that will have to be repaid by us, not Lord Guernsey or Hani of course.

Rather than cash I expect the Prem boys will very kindly donate their B teams to make up the places in Leagues 1 & 2 vacated by the insolvent.
