Back in the early noughties I was out drinking with friends and we were in the Brunel Wine Bar in Clifton. Also in the bar was Keith who joined in our conversation reminiscing about the times at Twerton. Suddenly one of our group said that they would pay £3000 to see Keith at The Mem with the Mic. Keith said that there was no chance of that happening. I promptly phoned Geoff Dunford, told him of the offer, handed the phone to Keith and soon after Keith made his one and only guest appearance at The Mem. RIP Keith. Certainly not PC but highly entertaining at a time when life was difficult for the club. i remember that, what game was it? Brilliant I can't remember the game sorry.

Great guy was Keith. Always full of humour and little one liners that would crack everyone up.
Rest in peace dear chap.

As referred to earlier in this thread I also remember the "pink crash helmet" comment and immediately bursting out with laughter. RIP Keith

Just noticed there is a thread on otib about this, and that Buster Footman died recently too but we don’t have our own thread.
So fair play to the c*** fans and RIP to Keith and Buster. Both names that are significant in the history of Bristol football and they deserve to be recognised no matter what the colour of the shirt you are wearing.

If you haven’t heard the interview 20 man did with Buster in 2017 that was replayed last week then I would highly recommend it. Fascinating interview and buster was an absolute scholar and a gent.

I don’t know too much about him, but I know the name, know he was a city stalwart and that’s good enough for me. If the Sh1!heads can have a thread for Keith I’m slightly disappointed that we didn’t notice the passing of Buster, but that’s not to have a dig, it’s a difficult time after all. I just like the idea that, especially right now, we appreciate that life and being Bristolian is bigger than cross City rivalries. Godspeed to both.

I think the difference was 365 that Keith was known for lots of things as well as being our announcer. He was in the local limelight back in the day. Whereas Buster was a very humble man, worked for his club in the background and unless you were a fan, it’s highly unlikely you would know who he was. I only did because some of my family are city fans and they have mentioned him through the years and from a few of his heroics treating seriously injured players on the pitch. Perhaps I should have started a thread, but I didn’t think.
