He didnt say his kids needed help, you are making stuff up. Gassy used the phrase "God help his kids" which was a slight on Nobby and no one else. Ill advised? Maybe, but twisting into an attack or threat on his kids is frankly ridiculous. You suggest Gassy is lily livered yet plenty of others on here seem to getting pretty butt hurt over what was a petty and childish spat on a backwater section of L1 football forum. In answer to some of the other posts, Nobby was not moderated in any way and nor was Gassy. Nobby specifically asked me in game chat if he could be moderated and I confirmed he would not be. His response was that the gloves were off. In GC there are no mods and never have been but maybe that was a mistake on my part because I was the one who pushed for a GC section and I have always advocated for it to remain unfettered. I think I was wrong. You can’t reason with him, Hugo. It’s all my fault, I’m a bully, Nobby never did anything wrong. As a mod on an Internet forum im clearly exceptionally powerful and should have limits on my power. So where id the post where you said god help his kids i cant find it maybe i missed it who knows. gassy i can be reasoned with, I did squirt coffee over my keyboard at your mod comment, all people have said is as a mod, you should not attack posters, is it to difficult to say something like removes mod hat before going off on one, a simple statement that removes any complaining about mods singling people out

- God help your kids. This is a threat against someone's children, clearly. No matter how you put it, it's always a threat. - I am coming for you. Tell me who you are, I will find out anyway. This is clearly not a threat. Logic. No it wasn't a threat more of a statement of intent or a promise. Ok years ago I had some sh** with someone, who used those exact words ,a few weeks later one of me kids got beat up in school ,by the guy who said it's lad. So yep there's no way it could possibly be a threat.

You're not wrong. Unfortunately, Marshy & eric keep bringing it up every day. I think it's about 5 times in the last 3 days between the 2 of them, yet try to say I won't let it go. I wonder if they'll ever "move on" as they seem to want yet keep bringing up? It's no surprise that between the 3 of them, they've all stepped away from the forum for months on end because of things they've done & said. Christ babber want his nappy changed, have you proof they stopped posting for that reason, i dip in and out as my mental health take a dark turn every now and then Yup carry on laughing, see I find your laughing at a post about mental health problems were mentioned quite astonishing, yeah point n laugh at the loon

We're not mods - unless we say we are. We could look to review that, but I'm not sure there is a point, because we're posters before Mods. Otherwise we'd have to put that on literally 99.9999999% of posts. Perhaps we can put something stick on the main chat that mods are posters before mods, or if we're modding - that the writing should be in a certain colour? Hugo had explained to Nobby that nothing was being modded in the section. He decided to go off on one from that freedom, so I think it's unfair to use me being a mod as a bullet. I'll hold my hands up, I am just as guilty as Nobby on the argument. However, he did turn it personal with insults. There were and still are no insults among other posters, whether or not they agree or disagree.

A threat is a symbolic act. The threat is a prediction or forecast; the actual act of carrying out the threat is not the threat. " I'd suggest reading the word threat - in the dictionary. Edit: just realized how the last line came across. Proper sassy, apologies. Wasn’t meant to be.

It kept any reference to mod or admin powers to a minimum, made life a tad easier lol

Probably not.

Another pointless thread, mods please delete. Wasting your time. The mod in question will never admit any flaws, will always want the final word and his opinion is better and more important than anyone else. Nobby did the right thing stepping away as it had become very toxic and abusive while the other party won’t let it go. Anyway, time to move on and he’ll soon run out of people to ‘debate’ with soon anyway - the general threads will just become completely full of people of the same political persuasion. Exactly the way I feel. This guy twists posts and articles to suit his argument and for that reason he is the only person I won't debate with, because quite simply it's not possible too. I debate with Oldie who holds similar views and we talked about having a pint together. With this guy its not possible to debate on here let alone in the pub. I get on with everyone else on the this forum and of course those with differing views, he doesn't.

Other mods have almost always stayed clear of GC. If anything had been modded it would have been me that had done it and I genuinely cannot think of a time I would have done so other than if something was libellous or to protect the forum rather than curtailing a posters point of view. The one occasion I have modded in here was Jaggas.

It kept any reference to mod or admin powers to a minimum, made life a tad easier lol Yeah, the way I do it, and the way I think it works best here, and the way that is in line with the philosophy of 'poster first mod second,' is to do it the other way round, to mention specifically (if it's not obvious) when you're modding. I often use blue text for the purpose. I often read stuff like 'so the mods won't let me say this' or 'so that's not allowed now,' when all that's happening is a mod is disagreeing with them. Istm, if a mod says something like 'you can't say that' in a chat they just mean it conversationally as a disagreement, and not as an instruction. If they're telling you you really can't say that as a matter of forum policy then they should make it clear they're talking as a mod.
