"Liz Truss has taken over from Rishi Sunak as the bookies' favourite to succeed Boris Johnson.
Penny Mordaunt - previously the favourite before Mr Sunak jumped ahead following strong live TV debates - is now trailing in at third, according to betting odds by Ladbrokes.
It comes after Ms Truss narrowed the gap on Mr Sunak and Ms Mordaunt in the fourth ballot of Tory MPs, gaining an extra 15 votes."

Unless you're Oldie. He won't vote for his local MP if he thinks he is useless despite representing the party he would want to see form a new government. Odd one that ! Nor would I. Why would anyone vote for an incompetent fool just because they like the party they are from? Other than Francegas obviously. So you would vote for the tory candidate because he wasn't an incompetent fool even though you wouldn't want a tory government. Right got it. Let's hope all the labour candidates are viewed as incompetent fools in the next general election then.

My point is, again, you do not HAVE to vote for an idiot just because you like the colour of their rosette.

Tory voters are like cults that no matter what they’ll vote Tory and blame Labour. Maybe we should do the same to actually stand a chance?

It should go to GE. I believe it always should when a PM resigns/fired/forced to quit. And yes, before FG asks - the same should have happened when Blair went. The thing is though at a General Election no one is voting for the Prime Minister (well, except those living in their constituency but even then they are not voting them into that job)... ...there's been too many General Elections for the wrong reasons since 1997 and half the time they've been too early or not needed Technically they’re not, but we all know that generally speaking we’re voting for the PM/party rather than your local constituent

Claim to be left wing but unless it’s Corbyn or another on the left of the Labour Party they’d rather not vote . Cretins 🙄

True in theory but in reality we vote for the MP whose party affiliations will mean its leader will form the next government. With regards to elections, most PMs will call an election when they feel they will stand a better chance to win, it's one power Cameron gave up with the now rescinded Fix Terms Parliament Act. Unless you're Oldie. He won't vote for his local MP if he thinks he is useless despite representing the party he would want to see form a new government. Odd one that ! What? Who?

Imagine blaming Labour with a straight face after 12 years of Tory government. Rather like admitting that they have been ineffective isn't it?

Early days, but...
"New polling from Opinium shows that a Sir Keir Starmer government is preferred by the public when compared to any of the final three candidates to be leader of the Conservative Party.
Rishi Sunak comes the closest to Sir Keir - but is still 11 percentage points behind the Labour leader.
The survey was carried out on Monday and Tuesday, with 2,000 adults in Great Britain asked: "If you were forced to choose, which of these would you prefer?"
They were offered a choice of a government led by Sir Keir, or one of Mr Sunak, Penny Mordaunt or Liz Truss.
Sir Keir got 46% and Rishi Sunak 35% when the two were compared.
A Labour administration got 45% compared to 33% for Penny Mordaunt.
And a Liz Truss government was chosen by 32% of people asked - while Sir Keir was picked by 46%."

To be honest, most people I know vote Tory because they believe they are too good to vote anything else.

Stupid poll really, if anything it shows Sunak would win. The voters for Kier, in this scenario, would be split across labour & Lib Dems and those voting Tory would 100% vote Tory?

It should be spelled Moreredundant. Isn't that someone who messes about with the dead? Or "The Tory Party faithful" as they are also known.
