Sunak did very well with the furlough scheme. There was a lot of muddled thinking in response to the pandemic but I do not necessarily blame the Tories for that, I think they were trying to avoid lockdowns and save the NHS front line from becoming overwhelmed. It is easy to be critical of many things but no party has faced something like Covid in many years. I quite like Sunak, which is not something I have been able to say about a front bench Tory in a very long time. What do you like about him ? Interested to hear . His handling of the furlough scheme is the main reason. He came across well in the leadership debates too. As mentioned, it is clear that many tories dislike him, so that probably tells you that he is a decent person.

Don't they get to do that anyway? Taking back control mate. How gullible must you actually be to keep falling for their nonsense? Crazy.

Team Sunak vs Team Truss?
Team Sunak for me. I'm really intrigued where Liz Truss is planning to raise the money from all these tax cuts she is planning to make?

They do make me smile. We have a crisis in cost of living, we have a health service that is imploding, a education system where only 59% of kids leaving Primary School are achieving expected educational standards before going to high school. And these two argue about vague economic never never land. Ffs.

Hobson's choice.

Hobson's choice. It's not the choice. Higher petrol prices have caused vat receipts to spike. I have heard that tax receipts are upto £100 billion greater than expected. They could easily cancel the NI increases and still fund budget increases in the health and care sectors. They should also be brave and eradicate business rates, it's killing small businesses.

We lose either way. Simple as that. Where do you think Truss is planning to raise the money from the tax cuts? Privatising the NHS? It may have escaped you but the NHS is mostly privatised already. Bar emergency and in patient hospital services (who contract in private workers anyway) it is entirely private. Neither of them are going to fairly tax corporations now are they, so either way you pay for it mate. Either in income taxes or cost of living, degradation in standards, same difference. You're asking me to choose between a sh** and a turd, with abundant alternatives available in your local water sources. Well, not me, I won't get a vote.

I thought you might find this interesting from a colleague. The infrastructure is literally melting. Oh and with a keen eye you'll note the privitatisation clue too. And so, test results are being delivered by hand on paper one, one patient at a time for example. And you wonder why we whinge Was in a public lift before you ask. Attachment Deleted
