£3,549 energy price cap for average use . Vote Tory , up the Brexit 🇬🇧. been running numbers. Can just about suck this up, but if it goes up more.... Thousands of my disposable income sucked out of the economy ran some numbers of my own, with over estimates on use and a guess on next price cap as per Martin Lewis saying another x % genuinely fear for those less worse off, and no one from the Government has been willing to speak to anyone this morning

Populists who aren’t even popular. 🙄 Absolute twuncs the lot of them.

Must be an election on and they are pandering to the lowest common prejudices.

It's all decided by Civil Servants behind the scenes with government ministers only managing the PR......apparently.🤭

Have a listen to her speech ( Maitlis ) , she absolutely nails things . Aside from the fact she's promoting a new podcast, what else has she "...nailed..."? She was working at the BBC when Labour party supporters/donors were on their board and were in senior editorial roles, and we heard no complaints from her.....

Asked if Macron was friend or foe she replied "The jury is still out on that one" she went on to say she would judge him on deeds not words. Hardly saying she didn't like him. But then the woke left took it on board to criticise her.

Makes you weep. There was someone on Newsnight tonight who said that her disabilities meant things take much longer, an example she gave was that for her a shower costs £5 whereas her husband's shower would be £1.37. We've plenty of machines for our son, he's connected to three overnight. www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-62685068

She's Foreign Secretary and would be PM, it's plain what she meant and this isn't what she should be saying regardless of her actual words.

I see the Don't Pay UK group is growing fast. And this is before the revised direct debit estimates have been emailed to everyone. Once the disinterested masses see the full horror of their forthcoming bills, it will escalate rapidly imo.
I think in terms of impact and making changes to government policy, it will make the poll tax demonstrations look like a Sunday afternoon tea party if the government doesn't change tack.
It isn't just students and troublemaking lefties affected this time. It's basically everyone who isn't well off, which accounts for most of the population. It's totally unprecedented and potentially very volatile.
And the fact that it's the big energy conglomerates who are using the Ukraine war as an excuse to quadruple their profits shows the nasty side of capitalism. They are using market demand as their excuse to shaft everyone. It isn't costing then a penny more to extract non-Russian produced gas than it did before the war, but they are using the market's uncertainty to exploit their power and raise prices. Because the market is king, as the Right tell us.
Always the same. In boom or bust, capitalists without a conscience will make money from the misfortunes of others.

Capitalism’s days are numbered , it’s failed Trickle down of wealth is nonsense as it’s just hoarded evermore by the by the rich and their insatiable unquenchable greed .

Forget the Russia/Ukraine issue. This just shows that governments can do so so so much more to curb our co2 footprint, but literally do nothing apart from pointing fingers. At the end of the day it all comes down to cash. Feels like we’re at the beginning of an apocalyptic film
