So Apple the tech firm is worth more than the FTSE 100 index of companies. £1.6trn.
Apple paid £6.2m pounds on £1.4bn sales in the UK last year.
Remember that, if you end up on the dole & £120 per week or when you're dear mum is on a trolley in the BRI.
Google, Facebook etc aren't far behind.

There's a legal loophole they're all taking advantage of. You can't blame them. You can however blame those that are allowing this to stay in place. Backhander anyone?

Those in power will be well compensated for allowing the tax loopholes. Makes me laugh when you consider the UK economy is built on tax breaks for corporations. News today is that to pay for the huge covid debts, VAT will be raised and tax increases for the idiots already scrapping to get by.

Terrible - earn £25k and the Government take £2.5k in income tax & nearly £2k in NI.

Dear Lord. Johnson throwing around the IRA card in PMQs. Obviously slipped his mind they have given Claire Fox a peerage I caught the first bit of their exchanges, Boris was terrible and Starmer visibly angry. Not sure how it went down with the pundits afterwards, did anyone see the analysis?

For the general public, I agree it will have a nominal effect. Policies (or lack of) affecting jobs and wages will have a bigger impact. To his backbenchers though, it isn't a good look. If things don't improve then he won't make the next general election. Local elections were deferred to next year which could be interesting, post Brexit and another winter of coronavirus.

Matt Hancock on TV and radio again this morning, over promising. £500Millionon a new, more prompt, style of testing which will be available...he said he didn't know when. In the meantime people are being advised to travel hundreds of miles to take a test...in our world beating test, track and trace system. I get that it's difficult, I get that we were woefully under prepared, but for god's sake enough with these grandiose, propaganda, announcements

Although this government seems particularly keen on getting the 'good news' out but particularly bad in handling it. Only 4 more years.

Did you see the trump story about the US Postal service the other week? Basically he admitted he was trying to shut down part of the the postal service in order to prevent opposition postal votes. This sums up neoliberal politics today. apnews.com/14a2ceda724623604cc8d8e5ab9890ed
