I can't wait to read how he plans fiscal stimulation of the economy when at the same time the Bank of England is trying to suppress demand....it's hilarious (but not if you may be on benefits)

I know they are supposed to be independent of each other, but they couldn't be doing things any more opposed to each other

They are doing very well so far.

I don't think Truss will be the fire breathing right wing free marketeer some hope for and others fear. She says all this stuff to get elected but it will all be watered down now she's in No. 10. There is still a middle ground, slightly right wing, one nation safe territory in the UK. Tory policies on public health care and benefits might frighten me a bit but they'd be seen as basically communist by some US Republicans. Well she’s not getting off to a great start to prove your theory right . Can’t believe you’re saying she’s “slightly to the right” ! You’ve been gaslit . Thanks very much. Time will tell. In the real world it will not be like the leadership campaign. Surely you know that don't you? It's like a consituency Labour party meeting on here sometimes. And I should know. I'm a member of said party.

Top rate of income tax 45p abolished altogether. The top rate is now 40p.
Basic rate of income tax cut from 20p to 19p from next April not 2024.

It's being wrapped up as helping Joe Public when really it is helping the rich and the poor/poorer will have to pay it back.
