Curious that their last handful of managerial appointments reads; Lee Johnson, Steve Cotterill, Sean O’Driscoll, Derek McInnes, Keith Millen, Gary Johnson & Brian Tinnion. Some huge names there. The 82ers have gone on alot since those names above,or even since mini Johnson took the job. Most of those took over when City were in L1, or during there first run for nearly 10 years in championship at the old Ashton Gate. That club BCFC (We might not like it) have go on to premiership level with there ground, crowds and investment..They were not at that position when any of the above got there jobs. A different level of person would go for the job now, against then. The above is why we need the Fruit market or another to happen more than ever. Not sure why your so obsessed with the 82'ers it's all a bit odd/sad. They are just built on Lansdown's money, if he threw £100m at any club in a reasonable sized city they'd probably be in a similar position to the 82'ers, it's really zero to do with crowds, ground, history it's just down to £m's. As far as managers the names on the list just seem the ones associated with any job in the Championship.

I'm making a point in a thread called "Bristol City dustbin thread" which you have also posted on... So stop throwing pointless insults around like an idiot.

Brilliant. As predicted this thread had gone from irony to imitation. Arguing amongst ourselves about whether Bristol City are a "big club" or not - the most banal and unanswerable of all football arguments.
Lock. Set to sink. Send to General Sport. However you do it just get rid of this embarrassment.

Yeah, ok. I thought I would leave this going while they were searching for a new manager coz that might actually be a sensible vaguely Rovers related conversation while not much is happening at BRFC, but this isnt't it.
Don't forget to start loads of threads about how your freedom of speech is being curtailed.

No doubt there's now going to be an outbreak of Teds wandering around Bristol in their Ted Football Shirts following B. Johnson's requirements for face mask wearing. The masks will cover their ID, saving them from the usual embarrassment and ridicule.

I love the straw clutching going on in that thread. Less rest? Umm they would of got plenty of rest with the new season starting in mid September at the earliest.

Not a fan of their new away kit - What colour is that ? Bell End purple ? If it is I would see a doctor; looks a bit insipid.

Not sure if appropriate to post here RIP. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-53972258100 Bristol City FC have paid tribute to a superfan who has died at the age of 103. Margaret Dodds watched her first match in 1970 and has seen the club play in all four divisions of English football. The club announced her death on Twitter, saying it was "deeply saddened" to learn of her passing. Speaking to the BBC in 2017, Mrs Dodds, of Weston-super-Mare, said being a Bristol City supporter was "something you never grow out of".

Nice touch. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-53974891Football players and supporters from across Bristol have joined forces to replace a memorial bench destroyed in an arson attack. The bench, dedicated to former Cadbury Heath FC volunteer Terry Green, was set alight on 28 August. When an appeal was launched over the weekend, former Bristol City and Bristol Rovers players were among the first to donate. The wooden seat is on the spot where Mr Green died of a heart attack in 2016. Mr Britton said Mr Green, who he had known for more than 30 years, was someone who would "do anything for anyone". Former Bristol player Scott Murray and ex Bristol-Rovers player Chris Lines both gave £100. The current Bristol Rovers chairman Wael Al-Qadi also gave to the appeal. Cadbury Heath FC chairman Steve Plenty said he and other club officials were grateful to the "Bristol football family" for their fundraising efforts.
