Can't wait for SteveK's farewell message to Ollie.
"Dear Ollie,
I saw someone trying to drown some kittens the other day and I'm pretty sure it was you.
Thanks for getting the football season cancelled by the way.
I'll never forgive you.
With hate,
Steven Kaufman"

If you were GC, why would you care about that? He always came across as an honourable man who always tried to do right by the club and players. Now he's stitched is up twice, which just goes to show what a bad judge of people I am 😕 We've only the BP saying GC came in at the last minute, plus it was only ever the BP who said OC was close to signing a contract, if OC's kept in touch with GC why would he leave it to the last day, I wouldn't be surprised if this deals been on the cards for months, whether Rovers knew is anybody's guess but we can hardly accuse GC of stiching us up if an L2 club has outbid us for our captain!

He’s a good lad and I wish him all the best but he was probably one of the most inconsistent players i’ve ever seen in a rovers shirt

A 100 % player always gave his all, is he another one who has worked it out that its a waste of time playing for a manager who is as inspirational as a bag of cement. Gave up a testimonial as well to get out of the club, can't be a happy place to be at the moment, local boy would have been well supported. At least Mansfield have their new shirt out, I wonder when ours is going to be launched. I wish him well,Rovers through and through.

Sorry to see him go but probably best for both parties, with Upson, Ogogo & even Russe under contract and possibly Grant to come in we have more than enough players in that area. A two year contract and most likely regular football with a team with aspirations of pushing for promotion and a manager he knows well probably swung it. Good luck Ollie, I hope if and when he returns to the mem he gets the reception his service deserves.

Sincs always gave 110% but some times that's not enough, the fact OC's content to drop a league suggests he probably knows he's not really up to L1 football at the moment, I doubt a testimonial match behind closed doors will bring in the £'s this year!

Can't blame him for moving on with a 2 year deal on offer especially with the injuries he has had. Good luck Ollie

Thanks for everything Ollie, you played a big part in two vital promotions for the club and will always be considered "one of our own". Scored some fantastic goals for us over the years over the years, the volleys into the top corner at Newport and Eastleigh away spring to mind first. Best of luck at your new club, truly a player that is welcome back at the mem any time. But did we ever sing of Ollie Clarke "He's one of our own, he's one of our own..." I don't recall a time when we did. Anyway, he's done what 1000s of us wanted to do - play for the Rovers, score for the Rovers and captain the Rovers. Good wishes, Ollie.

Its been said many times and many ways, capable of m.o.m performances but also of being anominous in games, a few stand out memories but not enough to be to upset he is going. Cracking ,vital goal at Eastleigh but overall think its good move for Ollie and Rovers. leaves with my good wishes ,thanks Ollie and best of luck.

No chance that all transpired overnight, and can’t see Ollie making a decision like that overnight

It's a shame that OC has moved on, but to be honest the only reason I would have liked him to stay is because of his long history with us, and the fact he's an undoubted Gashead. It's sad when a home grown player who's been such a great servant to the club eventually moves on. We've now lost a lot of long-serving players over the last couple of years: Ellis, Lockyer, Browner, The Beard, and now we're losing Ollie as well.
Having said that, I think his performances over the last couple of seasons were very inconsistent, sometimes awful, so from a playing perspective at least I would hope that any replacement we bring in will be better technically, but that remains to be seen. Regardless of ability, it is always a dangerous move to perform large scale revamps of squads. Remember when Trolls started moving on the old guard in favour of supposedly better players back before our last relegation from L1? Recruitment of replacements is absolutely key.
I wish Ollie all the best though, and would applaud him on his next appearance at the Mem.
