So with Garner saying in his recent interview that he only wants to add “a couple” more players this window, which positions would you like to see strengthened?
A creative midfielder and nippy wide man for me.

Striker and wings. Still not convinced were strong enough in those positions. JCH gets injured and we’re reliant on youth players and two signings who are very fresh. We need another player.
I wouldn’t take couple too literally - as a statement of speech that could mean 3 or 4.

Thinking back to the interview with Tommy W, he mentioned a striker and a wide number 10 I think so that could point to another player coming in there unless Nicholson is that wide number 10.

Striker and creative midfielder, if I had to pick 2.
I think they see Barrett as the midfielder though, so I think they'll go for another winger and striker

Creative CM and another versatile winger.
Seems like Upson is more in Garner's first team plans than we first thought?

Definitely a decent creative midfielder and then probably a left back, I'm just not convinced with just having Lehey and Kelly as our only options there. And then use the loan market to get a prem/championship winger in like Mitchell-Lawson, 2 if Bennett leaves.

Tough one depending on what formation we plan to play. If he wants to play with wingers then I think we need another one. If JCH is going then we may need another striker. If JCH stays and we’re only going to play one up top then the 3 we have might be enough. But a creative midfielder would be nice as well, but again if Barrett is looking fit and good in training then he could be what we’re after.

D3D4football are reporting that we're trying to sign Dominic Samuel recently released by Blackburn.
If this is true, it'll be a replacement for JCH.
He has played for Coventry on loan, so the story is credible!

Of course I would give him a chance and would have my backing but Samuel Is not the proven goal scorer likely to get us the 15-20 goals a season we would require.

Kelly I’ve not seen enough of yet to write him off but the bits I have leave me unconvinced.

That's exactly what was said about JCH when he arrived at Rovers. You might remember that he wasn't that prolific before he signed for us.

Info from a Blackburn mate:Ah good luck to him! in all honesty he was very hit and miss for us in the championship but he had a big knee injury which stopped him from building on his form he showed in league one, scored some crucial goals in league one always gave 100% but wont get you loads of goals!

Completely agree regarding when we signed JCH which is why I would give Samuel a chance and would back him from the stands as I do with every new player. For me though I think my original statement is my immediate thoughts on the potential signing and would personally prefer a more proven goal scorer. I’m not saying samuel couldn’t and wouldn’t get the goals we would be losing if we lost JCH but it would be a risk. With the clubs new philosophy of wanting to develop players, which I totally agree with and have been wanting to see something like this put in place for a long time, I think we already have 2 new strikers on the books that fit this description so would rather JCH replacement already be a proven, experienced striker to go alongside the 2 we already hope to step up instead of taking a gamble on all the forwards we would have in the squad.
