Shame as I thought he'd get them back in no time, but not overly surprised. He looked like DC in his final months as the season went on - totally drained.
Let's just hope a certain team in red don't come knocking....

Shame, but as has been said he did look drained and totally wrecked just recently and prob needs a break from the game ,expect him to be back in charge of a prem team when he has recharged his batteries, tough on Bournemouth for whom it is going to be hard to maintain there place in the upper echelons of the game and hard to hang on to there best players , wish them well.

He is in need of a long rest to recharge his batteries imo. Being a manager who’s a fan as well means he has an emotional attachment to the job, a bit like Ollie does perhaps with us. So failing and getting relegated will affect him more than perhaps other managers and teams that went down. Despite the disappointment of VAR and Hawkeye this season he never complained or used it as excuses and always said the “table doesn’t lie we weren’t good enough.” Can you imagine Mourinho saying that when he gets a decision against him? Anyway good luck to him. Hard to know what will happen now, I think he’ll take some time out to reflect, rest and just chill out. But perhaps someone will tempt him back with an attractive project. Those south of the river might be pleased that he’s become available or they might regret taking their time to appoint someone as now there is another attractive club in the south who might want Hughton or Cook and who have a decent squad, if they can keep them, to make an immediate challenge. UTG!

UTG! I wonder what happened with Hughton? I dreaded him going to City. With his track record and Lansdown`s trillions, I could easily see them being in the Prem, this time next year ( Covid permitting ). And it looked a done deal, a week or so ago. What went wrong?

Yes William, I agree. It’s gone very quiet. I suppose the football world has its own rumour-mill and perhaps they knew something was about to happen at AFCB. So they’ve waited a bit to see what happens. EH would be a more attractive option than Hughton, better style of football. But I thought Hughton was a shoe-in there, he would be effective and ultimately get them up. Just not such a great football style. With a small close season they will need to get a move on. And from EH’s point of view I just think the guy needs a complete rest. He’s being looking shattered for the past few months and several of us think he would have gone even if they had stayed up. He just needs to take a period out of the game, reflect on why AFCB got relegated and just chilled and thought of his own needs more than AFCB. Managing them with their relatively small support team must be hard and I think the last thing he needs at the moment is to step back in to a club esp in the time scale limitations at the moment. Time will tell. UTG!

Feel sorry for Bournemouth. If Aston Villa hadn't benefitted from the VAR howler in the first game of the restarted season against Sheff Utd, then Bournemouth would have stayed up on goal difference and Villa would have been relegated.
