Will take a point all day long. It’s always harder to take when you concede after leading for 80 minutes.
We didn’t loose the first game for a change! I said the other day starting with two cup games may work in our favour.
Yes we sat very deep but if we played like we did last weekend we would have been murdered.

Great result , still lots of things not quite right about us but our defence defended better and didn’t dick about with it so much , we often looked good on the counter more so first half where as second half I thought we looked knackered by about the 60th minute. Regarding formation and tactics I think that only having two central midfielders and most of our other players wide means we can’t get a hold on games , I don’t rate either Westbrooke who slows it down when we’ve got chance to keep tempo up and attack and also doesn’t seem too interested in defending or Grant who seems no better in fact worse than Ogogo so far although it has only been a few games and half of those were friendlies so the jury’s out obviously at this stage. It feels smash and grab and Sunderland will be wondering how they haven’t won that but it’s a great point for us and relieves a bit of pressure on our young manager and his young team. UTG !

We’ve got Anssi Jaakkola to thank for that, Sunderland could of scored a few more if it wasn’t for him. Best keeper the gas have had for ages.

Don't like the time waisting at all, we are better than that, leave that side of things out of it, on the other hand no Sunderland fan can complain as they should have been down to 10 men early in the 2nd half but the ref changed his mind because the player was already booked Everyone time wastes when they’re 1-0 up away from home if we didn’t do it then we’d be the only side in the league who didn’t and we’d be a few points worse off than everyone else at the end of the season.

Take that all day long Sounds a bit backs against the wall, but we will need that Hope the injury to the new lad isn’t too bad as it sounds like he had a good game. Nothing to really fear in this division? There could be lots to fear- you have to look at the flow of the game, if we had finished stronger then it would be a more positive outlook. As it is you can make a case for saying Sunderland maybe under-estimated us first half and we duly profited. Second half they went about clawing that head start back and as a result we were very much second best and under huge pressure. Perhaps unlucky not to be a man ahead which would have changed things massively, on the other hand they hit the post and had one cleared off the line and we’ve maybe been fortunate to come away with the draw. So if other teams give us the due respect and take the game to us from the off then we could be in trouble, but we won’t play teams with Sunderland’s resources every week. Swings and roundabouts.

Cam and Jonah not really done enough since coming on .... Nicholson and Hargreaves both poor, they need to do better or we need to sign better. Surprised to hear that, Nicholson seemed like a good outlet in the Cheltenham friendly

Surprised to hear that, Nicholson seemed like a good outlet in the Cheltenham friendly Hargreaves wasn’t on long and Nicholson wasn’t bad he was average same as most. We defended well ,mostly , didn’t play ourselves in to trouble and looked dangerous on the break at times. A decent if not great away performance but definitely a great result.

Determined defense, ref bottling the red card affected the game but happy with a point. Fighting spirit even though completely outplayed in terms of possession.

Maybe one day we'll be on the front foot and dominate a game. Not many teams (if any) are going to dominate at Sunderland. Be happy with the point Victor.

Maybe one day we'll be on the front foot and dominate a game. Undoubtedly we will, but I’ll be very surprised if that happens against the likes of Sunderland, Ipswich and Doncaster. The next couple of games will be very interesting in light of today, 3 draws from the first 3 would be a decent return imo.

A backs to the wall performance from Rovers. Sunderland won’t believe they’ve not got the 3 points. They must have had 5 or 6 big chances. Incredible save by the big Fin.

Maybe one day we'll be on the front foot and dominate a game. I seem to recall being on the front foot and pretty much dominating our last league game, against this lot.

Very similar performance to the “famous” away win at Ipswich last season. If Wright had been given his red card then this could have been even better, but a point away against a side like that is a very good start. Style of play, for me, is a bit of a positive actually to see situational leadership, a different plan for the circumstances. As a few have said, if we passed it about and conceded 3 there would be uproar. Leahy excellent today, Little very good too, back 3 pretty solid, Westbrooke looks quality, Hanlon shows promise, and JML is in decent form... I’m happy with that result.
