One of Garner's biggest selection dilemmas this season will be which 3 players to start in a back three if he decides on playing with 3 centre backs. Harries, Kilgour, Ehmer and Baldwin all have good claims to start and even the likes of Little, Kelly and Grant could be decent in a back three. Thoughts?

I would like Ehmer Baldwin Kilgour but has Harries is left footed I feel like he would add balance, especially trying to play out from the back

Ehmer, Baldwin and Kilgour for me. 3 big strong dominant centre backs who can also play out.
Nice to have options there though with Harries, Davies (when fit) as well as Little and Kelly playing in the back 3 too and looking good.

Was just about to say that Kelly has been seen to do well there surprisingly, so he should feature in the poll

Difficult decision Harries Ehmer and Kilgour for me, but Baldwin is decent, haven't seen enough but Ehmer was probably best centre half last year, so he is a definite, love Alfie, and Harries is allegedly sharp at passing.

Doesn’t matter what we think - how can anyone other than the management team be in a position to make a judgement.

I'm surprised how many have been impressed with Harries. Personally I think he looks suspect and despite watching all the friendlies I haven't seen this great distribution some fans mention. In fact I've seen him give the ball away in dangerous situations on at least a couple of occasions which could easily have led to goals.
I'd go with Kilgour, Ehmer and either Baldwin or Little.

Kilgour / Ehmer / Davies would appear to be our strongest back three but obviously Davies is injured so the other position is up for grabs. I haven't seen enough to say, but it's good to have competition to keep people on their toes and to take the place of anyone who is out of form. Harries has looked very poor in what I have seen, I think his distribution has been woeful and would cost us goals.

Also anyone curious about how a back three might work under Garner, this is well worth a watch. (from a couple of years ago)

For me the best three so far have been Ehmer and Baldwin definite with a final choice between Kilgour, Harries and Kelly. Based on last season as well Kilgour would get the vote but based on the friendlies so far Kelly would get my vote.

Kilgour - Ehmer - Harries (right to left)
Harries distribution tips it in his favour for me but what a great problem to have

Went for Ehmer, Baldwin and Kilgour but I've changed my mind after today. Definitely need a left footer in the left of the 3 imo to balance it out.
Also hoping Jaakola coming back in will help with organisation next week, as they looked all over the place.

Our best back 3 is probably a back 4.

All three looked slow off the mark today. I’m worried about their general lack of pace.

I actually thought that the defence played a more natural game for the last 15 or so minutes that we had a back 4.
