DC club legend and I wish our fans could be in the stands to give him a proper welcome! I do wonder if DC had the financial backing that BG has had since wael has taken full control of the club we could have been a league above? Instead he was forced to sell key players and was pushed out for being outspoken when mentioning the failure to get the training ground developed etc but since his departure those funds on and off the field have been started! He brought great success on a shoe string and yes a couple of players he brought in didnt perform but look at how many did! I agree with the sentiment about DC but he canāt complain about backing having signed Bennett on the most ludicrous contract known to man. Sadly DC run out of ideas and enthusiasm. When we inevitably get rid of Garner Iād love DC to come back. If the club is going to go to sh** Iād prefer it to do so under DC, a man who will always be Gas. Garner isnāt one of us and I donāt think he ever will have anywhere near the appeal to fans as DC. From day 1 he seems to be alone, by the side of the pitch, with no real emotion being shown. Tactical / substitution changes rarely seem to happen to correct anything BEFORE it is too late? GC was really good at this? DC used to sub invariably at 66, sometimes 60 minutes just because .........

think we have to play 'strongest 'side in order to be ready for Sunderland, Welcome back DC and thanks for the memories. PS not exactly setting the world alight at Walsall is he, just an observation.

How does the selection rules work with this competition this year? The stupid rule about having to play so many players who played in the last game or who will play in the next game. Surely they can be using these with it starting so early in the season?
As for the team, I would be surprised if a bunch of players who did not start yesterday don't start this game. Harries, Kelly, Hare, Tutonda, Upson, Ayunga, Rodman (if he's recovered)

Garner isnāt one of us and I donāt think he ever will have anywhere near the appeal to fans as DC.DC became 'one of us' (whatever that means) because of two promotions. But IMHO his managerial ability was hyped because he communicated well with fans (and I appreciated that, and had a good conversation with him myself). The reality is that he couldn't stop us getting relegated out of the football league; we struggled in the conference until Chris Lines was signed; he did well to get us out of league 2 at the first attempt; but then lost his way in league 1. So a solid League 2 /conference manager but I will be amazed if he takes Walsall out of Div2. We thank him for his time here, but WIHHB? No way.

I was hoping we could play the kids / fringe players in this one after a good performance today but obviously thatās not the case now. Makes this a selection headache really , does he play a strong team and make the changes he feels he needs to make after todays shitfest ? If he does then theyāll most likely be shattered against Sunderland which is the big one. If he plays the fringe players then heāll have no idea whether the changes he makes from Ipswich to Sunderland will be good ones because he didnāt try it out v Wallsall. The pressure is certainly on our young manager and I really want him to succeed but I think everything has gone against him in his time for us. Some of that has been his own making and some of it has been just unlucky. He needs wins and fast. I am sure it will be a very different team to the one that played against Ipswich and I would expect BG to play the kids/fringe players irrespective of the Ipswich result. These are the type of games where we have to give them the minutes for their development. So lets play Walker, Tomlinson etc either from the start or off the bench. We have a good squad (but yes we need additions in attack) and need to keep them all up to speed and give the youngsters a chance to impress. To be honest I really don't care much about the results in this competition, would rather use it to give young players experience. I would also love to see goalkeeper Andre played in this match.

Big confidence inspiring performance needed .... Suggest that there might be some places up for grabs for the Sunderland game.

I hope that Ben does not simply use this as a match to play the kids. I think we need a strong eleven on the field from the start. If its three central defenders then Max should be the middle one, and one of these three players should be left footed. I think we have two wing backs better than the two that played on Saturday Hopefully we have at lest one striker starting (preferably two), and set about the opposition with commitment and intention, less of the tippy tappy stuff at the back and more thunder at the top end of the pitch.

My lineup against Walsall:
................Van Stappershoef.............. ..........Harries...Kilgour...Kelly............ Hare.......................................Tutonda ..............Mehew.....Upson.................. Rodman*...........................Walker...... ....................Ayunga..........................
*JML if injured
Good chance to see if a few players that weren't involved on Saturday, should be considered for Saturday. Personally think Kilgour needs a run out to gain a bit of match fitness and confidence, whilst another game against football league calibre players will help Ayunga with his adjustment of moving up a few levels.

Said before but when three down we were tippy tappy in our own box and after so many tips and taps were no further forward and still in or around our own area. Powder Puff stuff.

DC will really want to win this one. I expect a near full strength and fired up Walsall to turn up. Pressure will also be on BG to produce a result after today's dismal showing. What would normally be a meaningless tinpot cup game will have a lot more interest than usual I suspect. DC must be licking his lips at the prospect of facing Garner and the romantic in me would quite enjoy DC sticking the boot in and showing that lower league nous is worth more than training a bunch of primer league youth. Come on 365, weāre BRFC supporters arenāt we? Surely it doesnāt depend on the manager. I hope DC does well after weāve beaten him. Iām glad you left it a bit open by saying āquite enjoy....ā And it might be me but Van Stappershof, Leahy, Little, Ehmer, Kilgour, Baldwin, Westbrook, Hargreaves, Nicholson are not primer league youth. Of the team yesterday only Grant and perhaps JML could be considered that. We bought some experienced pros this summer with pretty good records. This idea of a ābunch of primer league youthā is a bit of a misnomer after this summerās recruitment? Isnāt it? I guess most of us support us whoever we are playing, it doesnāt depend on our manager or the opposition manager. If thatās not the case then Roversā fans have changed more than I thought over the past 20 years. UTG!

DC was utter sh** in nearly every cup competition.
Garner cant buy a win.
I predict both teams will lose.
