DC was utter sh** in nearly every cup competition. Garner cant buy a win. I predict both teams will lose. Come on Hugo, i was there when we beat Dorchester 7-1 in the 4th Qualifying round! š UTG!

To think it was a year ago that Clarke embarked on his long sulk and we had to be bailed out by his defensive coach. So much has happened off the field since then, but not much different on it as of yet. Is this the match where it will suddenly all gel for Ben's men?

I would think BG would play his strongest possible team, whatever he feels that is. Saturday showed that these players are no where near playing like a team yet and an extra game before the proper business starts must be used to get the players up to speed. Our three centre backs played like they'd met for the first time in the tunnel before the game. A home game against a team in the league below should be an ideal way for us to get back to winning ways. Another defeat heaps more pressure on Garner, who is already pushing a lot of supportersā patience to the brink.

This game is a non event against a fairly poor side,i hope garner picks nobody who he expects to start at sunderland. The players that play will have a chance to change his mind about the sunderland selection by impressing. Its all about trying to get a win or draw at sunderland in my view.

I would quite like to go and support our new players not spend the whole game clapping every time Sinclair and Clarke touched the ball and asking for DC to give us a wave

The only thing I'd say, is that Wasall is a winnable game and winning is a mentality you want to have. If we were to beat Walsall in the week - "non event" or not - those players would have some winning confidence to take in to the game at Sunderland. Difficult one really. I'd certainly start Ayunga - chance to get the monkey off his back and break his duck against a side a division below.

The problem BG has here (and itās a problem heās contributed to) is that win & the majority of Gasheads shrug their shoulders and go āmeh, we should be beating themā - but lose & all hell breaks loose again.
So as much as Iād like to see some of the fringe players & youngsters get a run out in this one, IMO Garner would be taking a gamble to play anything other than what he feels is his strongest side.

I think tomorrow is a must win imo.
If the players played really well against Ipswich and won or lost by the tiniest of margins. Sure have the evening off and the fringe players get some competitive minutes before Saturday.
But no, sorry they were awful and clearly need the game time to resolve their basic mistakes. DC and his players will be up for it. If the players that played Saturday play tomorrow and get a good result the mentality will be " Actually we are a good team, the gaffer got it right and let's get 3 points on Saturday!" Rather the players going into Saturday thinking s**t...we're going to lose again.

'' Ayunga - chance to get the monkey off his back'' Gee, these monkeys are keen. Lad has only played 45 minutes of serious football for BRFC. Should of notched at least an hat-trick by now.

Lose and it'll be "It is a disappointing result, however it was a chance to get another 90 minutes into more of the lads and some of their first game at the mem, some haven't played a lot of football what with the lock down etc and getting used to each other as a team, the real stuff starts Saturday with the long trip to Sunderland, they are a big club for this league it will be a difficult game, however we beat them last time we played them and we will be going up there to try and beat them again".

Listening to his post match interview on Saturday I think they'll be a number of changes.
I'm torn as to whether that's a good idea or not.
If he plays the second string and they play very well and win, does he then keep that 11 for Saturday or go back to the team that performed so poorly at Ipswich?
It's a tough one. I would probably only rest players that will definitely start at Sunderland.

Don't be a twat. Point I was making is he missed chance after chance after chance pre-season - could have quite easily come out of it with 6 goals, came out with 0. It wasn't a dig! Quite the opposite! He's got in to loads of goalscoring positions but hasn't taken any - I'm assuming it's confidence/nerves rather than ability, hence getting one and getting off the mark can surely on do him some good.
