Results in and Anssi Jaakkola was Man of the Match with a score of 8.40.
This was Jaakkola's 6th MotM in 22 league games (plus the outstanding MotM in the cup against Plymouth) Only Jonson Clarke-Harris and Jack Bonham (both 10) had more MotMs in their first 22. This is even more impressive as Jaakkola didn't get his first until his 9th game.
This was the first runner-up award for Luke Leahy. Previously, no player had played more games (40) without a runner-up award than Leahy (he does have one MotM from the Bromley home game last season). That record passes now to Alex Jakubiak with no runner-up awards in 36 games.
The starting XI average was 6.73, the most for an opening league game in the six seasons of these threads. The previous scores were 6.2- Grimsby, 4.4- Northampton, 5.9- Scunthorpe, 5.1- Charlton, 5.6- Peterborough and 5.4- Blackpool.
