Kilgour 2 - I love Alfie but this was terrible especially positional play. Not helped by players around him. Misses Craig. A fit Rodman would be a better option at right back.
Ehmer 4.5 - Numerous mistakes and did not marshall his defence like a captain should
Harries 4 - Some good bits but always seems prone to a few really bad errors a game. Problem is that he is the only naturally left sided central defender in the squad ignoring Kelly). Currently Meyananese and Craig are a lot better than any of our current pairings.

McCormick 3 - few good touches and tried. I have doubts that a League One dog-fight is the right place for him.
Grant 5 - was ok at times but more often than not there was no structure to midfield and no effective link between defence and attack
Westbrooke 4 - saw a lot of the ball and no doubt has the ability but he wasted countless opportunities with poor passes and poor dead ball kicks
Leahy 4 - extra point for the goal. Defending very poor.

Mitchell-Lawson 2 - looked like a little lost boy without his "big brother" JCH to protect and inspire him.
Hanlan 6.5 - held the ball up well and showed good pace and strength. Lack of support.
Daly 5 - Tried hard but doesn't look ready to be a regular member of a team fighting to survive relegation.

Subs: Ayunga 4.5 - little impact
Walker 2 - tough time to come on in one sense but had nothing to lose. Looked lost and out of his depth. Think that he need a good motivational speech before he came on.
Tutonda 4 - A decent player but seemed unsure of his role.

Doncaster 6 - an above average side who took their chances well but we need to grind out results now. Does BG not realise that this is not a normal season and we need early points in case the league is decided early on points per game. If he was any good, the team would have been able to gel by now enough to have at least get one win in the bag. Wycombe started last pre-season with only a handful of players and they got early results. With a half decent manager it can be achieved. Needs to swallow his pride and get back Ogogo and even possibly Bennett as better than what was on display on Saturday.

Jaakkola 5. Not much he could of done with the goals.

Kilgour 4. Continued his poor form so far this season. Playing RB did not help
Ehmer 4. To slow and gave away far to many fouls. Missed a good chance.
Harries 4. To many long balls. Place must be under threat from Baldwin.
Leahy 5. Great goal but was given the runaround all afternoon from there RW.

McCormick 4. Worked hard at the start but quickly faded. Not in the game.
Grant 3 much the same as we have seen so far this season. Needs dropping
Westbrooke 4. Some nice touches and turns. Far to negative with passing.

Mitchell-Lawson 3. Very poor, always on the floor. Needs dropping.
Hanlan 5.5 MOTM tried hard on his own. Can’t see him being a goal scorer.
Daly 4. Started bright but faded. Not in the game.

Subs: Ayunga 5. Looked a threat in a two with Hanlan. Needs game time.
Walker 5. Worked hard and some nice touches. Needs game time.
Tutonda 5. Looks skillfull quick and direct. Would prefer over Leahy at this time

Doncaster 7. Looked the best of the three we have played so far.

Jaakola 6 Nothing to do but assured with his feet.

Kilgour 4.5 out of position (maybe to add some presence in the air for deep balls to the back post?). Not his best game but at least he actually put a foot in.
Ehmer 4.5 Does a lot of shouting and wins some duels but underwhelming.
Harries 3.5 I just get the impression he has an u23 mentality by the way he carries himself. He doesn't put a strong tackle in when it counts but occasionally dives in on a loose ball for a highlight reel moment. Like a risky pass forward that comes off 1 in 3 times.
Leahy 4 Really well taken goal. But defensively left wanting. Hasn't got a strong challenge in him and let his man get in front of him for the 3rd? goal. The fact I didn't originally think the second goal was a foul shows what I think of his strength.

McCormick 5.5 He said he'd bring energy and that's what he did. Got around the pitch well but ran out of puff towards the end. Also bottled a challenge to stop the 3rd goal.
Grant 5 A difficult one for me to rate. He tends to be anonymous for large parts of the game. But his role is essentially to hassle their front players then give the ball to Westbrooke. So I can't work out if unmemorable is a good thing or not for him.
Westbrooke 5.5 Quiet game for him I thought. Poor delivery on set pieces first half which improved second half.

Mitchell-Lawson 2.5 I think he'll have games like this when he just tries to win nothing free kicks and the ref doesn't buy it. Offered very very little. Did actually put his body in the mix for the 3rd goal though, which is more than others!
Hanlan Mom 6.5 Looks assured. Takes the ball very well and has the ability to then turn and run at defenders. Unfortunately we didn't get to see what he can do in the final third often enough.
Daly 5 Saw flashes of ability I thought. But only flashes, needs to affect the game more consistently.

Subs: Ayunga 5 I like him although he is second choice to Hanlan. But he didn't change much when he came on.
Walker NOLE Didn't see much of the game when he came on. One to watch all the same.

Doncaster 7 I thought they got men behind the ball very quickly when we threatened to break which showed desire and organisation in stark contrast to our all at sea defence. Hurt us with set pieces then played around us nicely albeit when the game was won.

I do think this was our best overall performance of the 3 league games but we can't keep conceding soft goals. We have competed with all three top teams for periods but their cutting edge has shown. I don't know if that's just down to inexperience (players and management), a classic rovers slow start, or what. Desperate for a win against a Northampton team with far less quality than the opposition so far.
