Jaakkola 7 Not an awful lot to do
Baldwin 7.5 Solid and confident performance, extra half point for the goal
Ehmer 7 Better than of late and managed to win free kicks instead of giving them away
Harries 8 Another confident display from a young talent who's improving game by game
Hare 6 A player I like but he looked laboured first half, showed better in the second
Grant 5 Improved second half but the Jury is still out for me
Westbrooke 7.5 Always involved, some clever play, decent dead balls at times but sometimes wayward
McCormick 6.5 There's a good player in there, hope he gets a decent run in the team
Tutonda 8 What a revelation and fair play to BG for picking him ahead of the in-form Leahy. Tutonda must have shown well in training
Daly 6.5 First touch let him down a couple of times but showed good all round effort and kept their defence on edge.
Hanlan 8.5 MotM Great all round performance, exciting to watch.

Hargreaves 6
Ref 6 Decent enough but far too pedantic, especially first half
Northampton 4 Poor and without Cian Bolger could have got stuffed

Westbrooke 7 very involved but wayward too often
McCormick 6.5 some clever turns, some wasteful play
Tutonda 8.5 some clever, sparky exciting football
Daly 6.5 has to be a bit sharper in close control
Hanlan 8 very strong, made lots of chances. Needs to become more clinical
Subs: Nicholson 6 wasted some good chances
Hargreaves na didn’t get involved
Ref 6 pedantic
Northampton 3 offered very little and defended last ditch

Jaakkola 6 easy afternoon Baldwin 7 dealt well with their long ball and passed the ball well Ehmer 7 also dealt with their big forward well Harries 8 there is a player here with a lot of promise Hare 7 great strike against the bar and rarely troubled at the back Grant 6 better second half, still not sure about him though Westbrooke 8 some good delivery from corners and always available for the ball, some silly little flicks, looks good if it comes off but gives the ball away more often than not. McCormick 6 some lovely touches and gets in the box, hopefully more to come Tutonda 8 looks the part at wingback gets up and down the flanks well Daly 6 worked hard and looks promising outside the box, not much jn the box today Hanlan 8.5 up against some no nonsense defenders, to put it politely, and gave them real problems and put the pen away. Subs: Nicholson 7 he is a goal threat and i would start with him next week Hargreaves nole Ref 5 fussy Northampton 3 very poor on that showing. |

Jaakkola 7 not much to do, but competent in punching/handling in box.
Baldwin 7 done his job and too a very well taken goal.
Ehmer 7 still not convinced skipper, but shepherded defence ok.
Harries 7.5 got forward well at the right time and noticeable with assist to Balders.
Hare 7.5 best performance right back so far, can't think of anything opposition threat their left that bothered JH and what about the screamer that could have been?
Grant 6.5 some nice break up play but too much like me, an observer.
Westbrooke 6 some poor dead ball deliveries and not much else.
McCormick 7.5 lively and energetic.
Tutonda 8 best performance from a left back since NICHOLS/THD/LB
Daly 7.5 didn't think he was played as orthodox strike partner up front. Appeared to drift wide and draw fouls.
Hanlan 8.5 m o m great running and hold up play. Not frightened to take on defences, thoroughly refreshing to see. Excellent!
Subs: Nicholson 7 great chance to score, failed again but great for getting himself in the position.
Hargreaves 7 one of our own!
Ref 8 apart from not booking McCormick foul in first 20 mins appeared to call everything correctly and issued cards at approximate times. Was consistent.
Northampton 4 poorest team that has played poorly, that we've played so far this calendar year..
Well done to BG and management team for a much needed win. Good performance with players selected and playing in familiar positions and actually putting in a good performance.
We could have been 2 down early on in match, Northampton didn't take their chances, we did....it could so easily have been 5-0 with missed chances.
You can only play what's in front of you, but a win we can be proud of, played fairly..

Jaakkola 7 Quietly confident Baldwin 7,5 a good league debut and showed he can be useful in the opponents box too with a well taken goal. Ehmer 7 a solid game Harries 7.5 a strong display adds balance and put in some nice crosses. Hare 7 seemed to get stronger as the game went on, unlucky late on with an absolute rocket that crashed onto the bar. Grant 7 a better game, he was more involved than in previous games. Westbrooke 7 a busy game with some nice pass and movement but also some indifferent set pieces. McCormick 6.5 an ok game, he still needs more game time to get up to speed. Tutonda 8 a strong game. good going forward. solid defending always involved.A great prospect. Daly 6.5 bags of selfless running and energy, plenty more to come i think. Hanlan 9 M.o.M we've got a hell of a player here. bullied the Cobblers defenders with his strength and speed topped with a confident penalty that he won himself. Subs: Nicholson 6.5 should have had two goals late on, one good save from keeper who saved his team on several other occasions from an embarrassing scoreline. Hargreaves N.o.l.e Ref 6 a big inconsistent but generally ok Northampton 5 they will struggle. |

Daly 5.5 - lots of effort but end product lacking
Hanlan 7.5 - always a threat. Very good in the second half
Subs: Nicholson 4 - wasted most of the opportunities that came his way

Easy win in the end - god knows how we missed a few at the end. Northampton still playing L2 football a division higher. Great to see the new signings looking sharp - Baldwin, Hanlan and especially Tutonda.
