Mehew should remain as he can score goals and is easily good enough to play in the 1st Team. Agree with you Boris.

Poor judgment by Garner regarding Mehew who is the only natural scorer we have at the moment who is delivering. Has Garner got a perverse aversion to natural talent? He isn't likely to play until we struggle (are we?) so a bit of game time is positive. It would be daft if we cant recall at short notice though.

Most of these seem to be until January... so 2 and a bit months... not too bad that to gain 'some experience'

Anyone know if Lucas was involved last night? I see Bath won away at Slough in a FA cup qualifier.

Has anyone else gone on loan?
I would have thought it would have been good for their development if the likes of Walker, Hoole and Mehew went on loan.
Even if Kelly or Barrett went to get match fit till Jan? There are so low down the pecking order there would have to be a lot of suspensions and injuries before they got into the starting eleven.
I thought I heard that if they go to the National league they could still play in the PJ Trophy.
Also even if the clubs paid just £100 a month, it would save the club some money.
Not wishing the situation at Southend on anyone but if the team bus gets pelted with eggs and locked out of the stadium when getting back from a midweek away game, it would be extremely hard to motivate the players. If they can't afford anyone could we get loan deals lined up for January? Would be a steep learning curve but maybe it would make some younger players?

Best of luck to him , I was really impressed the couple of times I’ve seen him play and think he’s got what it takes to make it at our level. UTG

Hopefully he can make an impact in his short time there and go on to play for a conference side come 2021.

Tom Mehew scored a goal in both of his 2 appearances for the 1st team.
Which is more than any of our other Central Midfielders so far.
He really impressed me in those cup games.

The attacking midfiekder Owen Brain is a player that has caught my eye after scoring a number of goals this season for the U18s. I think we got him from Mangotsfield at U16 level. The forward Harvey Greenslade looks promising too.

Still reckon Mehew is good enough for first team squad, then again Jan is not long so perhaps he will come back firing on all cylinders and ready.

I actually thought in the two pizza games he played better than Hargreaves. But that’s only two games. I. Like to think both will be first team regulars in the future. With only knockout games in the pizza cup left, he wouldn’t have gotten much of a chance this season with our squad being so big. Best of luck to him.
