Talking to a former policeman, now retired about his thoughts on crowds returningto the Mem. He has heard that if that does happen then the over 60's wont be allowed because of the increased risk to them.
If its safe, its safe for everyone. I would venture that the over 60's would comply with the rules than maybe a younger person would. Backed up by one news report says the of sll the new cases in Bristol, 75% were students.
I'll get my coat and thermometer

I've not heard that suggestion from anywhere, if I'm honest. Come to think about it though, banning over 60's at the mem would be a good way to limit crowd numbers and ensure social distancing as there would be very few people left, judging by the average age of the crowd last season.

Yeah that sounds like a great idea? Just let all the young uns and students in because they are great at social distancing and don’t spread it do they.

I am sure that to get some crowds back in then restrictions would need be in place. Harsh to do it based on age but it’s for the right reasons. Protection rather than fear of spread.

Hmmm 61 and heading towards 62 at pace, I suggest keeping all students at home along with all under 30’s and hopefully we might then see social distancing obeyed. Tongue firmly in cheek. 😷

Until the older members of society get a vaccine (hopefully Q1 2021) then it would make sense to limit capacity by age and insist on those coming in to the ground sanitise and wear masks. Given even the test events remain on hold and with cases going up nothing is likely to be happening until spring at the earliest anyway. It’s all epidemic.

Something someone said someone heard seems to be mostly how the government formulate policy these days.

One alternative would be to ban all supporters UNDER the age of 60 and only let us oldies in.
Perhaps that is why they have added that extra space to park my zimmer frame behind the west stand!!!!

It's very much an old boys club. My dad (RIP) was a copper, even out of the force for 12 years before he died he still had his fingers in all the pies, and something like this is just the sort of memo that goes around those sectors long before any public announcement!

The majority of students testing positive is due to the fact they’re crammed together in halls and shared housing. It was madness to send them back in the first place!

If only full price tickets were available I don't think many over 65s would go.
