Very pleased so far with Daly and Hanlan's work rate, the pair never stop running and closing down and five goals between them already is very good. Only going to get better the more games they play. Thought we looked more dangerous when Nicholson and Oztumer replaced Daly and McCormick, they look class acts, with Oztumer actually able to keep possession of the ball in midfield. Tutonda also returned to form tonight, although somebody needs to teach him how to take a throw in!

Thought Grant was decent enough tonight, my only real criticism was that on a few occasions having won the ball back a careless pass gave it straight back. He's another young player who will improve as he plays more games

Sometimes sloppy in possession but spirited performance, jaakola is a tremendous keeper, thought we were lucky at times, Ehmer great stop on the line, but felt Daly should have had a pen second half, and Grant should have hit the target first half. We have a young inexperienced team who will only get better. Had the pre match whirl circle, dont understand why Home games are easy to get but away makes me wonder will I see any action. Same for me. Had to download the EFL ifollow app in the end and get the game on that. Getting the impression you can only get home games via the club website. For away games you need to use the EFL ifollow app. Can anyone confirm that or explain why the club website is so bad for away games? Worked the other way round for me - nothing on the app, but ok on the website!

No issues, crystal clear and didn’t buffer or lag at all. My first time using the streaming service though, and was panicking slightly after purchasing because it was showing that I had subscribed and had access, but I couldn’t immediately see how to actually watch. In the end I went back to the news article from a few days ago, which had a link to the “match day centre” for this evening’s game. From there it was a click and I was away. Not sure why the club can’t link to the match day centre from the subscription page, but then nothing is ever straightforward with Rovers.

It’s a strike rate that points to 32/33 for the front pair. I think they will possibly push for more. When did we last have that up top?

Well done boys. Credit to BG, really starting to turn the ship around now. And credit to Wael for sticking with him and backing him in the transfer market. Lets keep this run going!

You dont think perhaps that was because their defenders were nackered and Nicholson and Oztumer were fresh. i am not having a go at the 2 Rovers guys but we have to accept that was why they looked better

Jakkola is a class act; so calm, does not panick, great positioning, some unbelievable saves for us, etc. watching tonight's game from his position, I wonder what he thinks of the football we play most of the time? He deserves to be with at least a good Championship club when one looks at where Lumley and Roos are now. We have had some very good goalies in recent seasons; Bonham and Blackman also did a very good job for us and come close to Jakkola in my opinion and better than the other 2 wrt mistakes. I would not be surprised if offers come in for Jakkola by season end. We should not let him go for less than a few millions! The Finn-ished article in my opinion and a class above anyone else in the team. UTG

FWIW Jaakola was his normal reliable keeper and the defence are beginning to get used to playing together and have confidence in him. Max E had a very good game imo. Didn’t give away as many free kicks and did the simple things very well. It looked a very narrow pitch with plenty of room outside the lines, did they change it for this match? I can’t remember Hare ever getting forward and putting in a cross. But him and Tutonda did ok defensively. BG might have to plan for teams who cut out the threat from the wings as Shrewsbury did today. I liked the midfield today, they all look comfortable on the ball and sometimes didn’t release it when they could have done. But it’s good to see players being comfortable on the ball instead of always just sending it long. They all battled esp McC and he showed them he’s a better player than when he was at Shrewsbury last season. Today Oztumer when he came on he showed some fantastic touches and it will be great to see him. In ZW we now have a true replacement for Lines at his best though I think Lines could run with the ball better but ZW set pieces are very good for League 1. I don’t agree with what some have said about Grant, today he played with more confidence and that showed. He can ball play as well as sit in front of the back four. Perhaps he tries to do too much but he’s at the start of his career so he’ll learn when to play and when not to. Pleased for Hanlan to score such a good, brave goal, it will do his confidence a lot of good. Him and Daly give no defence any rest. They chase, they harass and are working well together. Glad to see us go for it tonight, we got a lead then rolled up the sleeves to hold onto it. Great spirit. We rode our luck at times but we defended well and just about deserved it. Accrington next up. I hope we go for it again with two up front, I’d go with the same two but Nicholson looked good when he came on when their defence was tiring and perhaps should have gone for goal instead of trying to hold the ball up. Well done BG and the team. UTG!

I am absolutely delighted with that win. There were many loose, scratchy performances all around the team for a long while but we pulled ourselves together and saw that out as a unit. As mentioned above we battled hard until the end and Shrewsbury’s game deteriorated as the game wore on until the final stages. Being able to bring on the likes of Nicholson & Oztumer is one hell of a luxury to have. They are two quality players that could easily start any match. So it’s 10 points from 12 and we go to Accrington on Saturday, another great chance for 3 more points. I am chuffed for Ben Garner ane d his staff once more. Not sure it's a great chance - they are above us in the table

Hanlan and Daly ran their legs out and impressed with them. Ehmer was OK but has a tendency to occasionally lose the ball when he should not. Westbrook better but the only cross he put in that was not too high or too deep, we scored from. Needs to put free kicks between the posts and not too far from the 6 yard box if not within!
Tutonda will be practising throw ins all week now. He gave foul throws away in the last match as well.
Harries was my MoM by a mile. He looks an accomplished player with good heading ability and not afraid to go where it hurts.
City 0-1

I’m no good with this stuff and I thought I was bound to have problems but so far, 7 matches, 7 good views with no problems. I hesitate to offer advice to those who know more than me but I go our website, click on ifollow, click on next match from the drop down, click on watch live. UTG!

Ricketts at it again. Claiming Clarke was two yards onside for his disallowed goal etc etc. The man was the same after last seasons win at Shrewsbury.
