Remember as a nine year old watching the final and will never forget his little dance with the cup, i thought he was an old man then with no teeth, a great player for United and England. RIP Nobby

I think he’s had some major health issues over recent years. Like many of the others didn’t really get the respect, recognition and financial support they deserved from the FA - had to sell all his medals a few years ago - very sad.
How many are left now? Is it just Charlton, Hurst, Hunt and Cohen?

From the squad who did not play on the day, George Eastham, Jimmy Greaves, Ian Callaghan and Terry Paine are all still with us.

Just checked and seen he is still with us. He is also the last surviving member of the Wolves 1960 FA cup winning side.

Derek Dougan,Ally Macleod and Dave Whelan were all in the Blackburn Rovers Team. The only other England Squad member I was unsure of was John Connelly, but he too has sadly passed away.

I remember reading about it. Was that the end of his career?

Another player from the 66 squad has died today. Former Blackpool and Burnley keeper Tony Waiters has passed away. Although not in the final 22 man group. He was selected in the original 40.
