I have never seen an American style kick off before where player passes back, stopper stops the ball and Westbrook converts? What is the point of the 2nd player? Just looks good I guess |

Again we seem to start a half well and then it fizzles out. I'd like us to maintain the intensity for longer periods as we look dangerous when we're at it.

Dale are a poor team and so are we.
If we have hopes of finishing top 10 we need to improve greatly in all areas.
I can see us getting thrashed by some teams as they realise how poor we are?

Doesn’t sound very tidy. Why are our substitutions so formulaic (60th minute) and for defensive players?

Pretty poor so far , I’m yet to be convinced with this style that involves the defence playing pointless passes to each other and Westbrooke who seems to be a quarterback sitting in front of the playing pointless passes to the defence before we give the ball away. I’d like to see us play a more direct higher tempo game through midfield we’ve got the players to do it but everything seems to go through Westbrooke and he slows it down so much it’s infuriating I actually preferred Coughlans style. It’s a results business and as long as the results are at least half decent I’ll be happy but I think the whole Garners side are good to watch thing is a myth. Good to watch needs to be quantified though. Some people think harmless passing across the back line is good football however to me it is just as reductive as a strategy based around long balls. Incisive football on the deck is good football imo. Some teams can do in 10 passes what it takes others 20 or more, I prefer the former to the latter. |
