Sorry Al, but those affected would have had no influence on the decision. My sister among them.

Can’t celebrate 3,500 people losing their jobs no matter what company they come from.
Feel really sorry for them actually in this economic climate.

Hardly Karma when it's the shop floor workers losing their jobs, it seems mostly at Argos not Sainsbury's anyway?

Not good for those who have and will lose their jobs, but the fact that Shamesburys have lost £140,000,000 will no doubt bring a wry smile to a few connected to 'Rovers.

Apologies if people are offended. Not happy of course over job losses, not even a wry smile about the company just no sympathy for a large company like Sainsbury's and the way they treat people.

From the sounds of it they may have done us a favour as soon as the takeover happened the Al Qadis ripped the existing agreement for the ground to shreds. Something was clearly amiss in the UWE deal.
If it was the other way around and we needed to get out of the Sainsburys deal, perhaps because we had a better offer, then I don't think any of us would have been outraged at us finding a loophole in our deal. It was business.
Ultimately our inability to turn the deal around quick enough stopped us from proceeding on it.
Time to move on I think, and look toward getting something arranged at a new site.
The Argos integration makes business sense but in my eyes as a customer its a real pain lugging big heavy goods into the ass end of a supermarket. Given how long they took reopening the Emersons Green branch I'm not surprised - I spent months waiting for them to reopen the full size store and had to give in to returning the goods I needed to return to the hatch in Kingswood Sainsburys.
Job losses are something we just don't want to be hearing of right now. As as society we will all feel the pain even if not directly affected.

Karma?
Working class people are losing jobs as a direct result of upper management incompetence.
