Poor in the first half and lucky to come in just 2 down. They persisted in the passing it around at the back then hoofing it and gave away possession every single time bar one (as far as I counted) The persistence of having a one man wall (even with a crazy wind) really backfired giving Fleetwood a free shot on goal. Let's face it ozzy is barely a one man wall ! It's not just this game it's something that has obviously come from BG as they have been doing it most games so far.
First half BG showed his lack of management experience . Second half showed a team can play against the wind and score and have plenty of attacks.
Swindon,Wigan and gillingham coming up. 4 points minimum from these games just to keep rovers out of the bottom 4.
If you told me 2 seasons from now rovers would be top 14 championship I would grin and bare it. A learning curve for inexperienced but talented young players and an inexperienced manager. I'm not convinced YET that rovers wont be top 14 league TWO in 2 seasons time.

I know what you're saying I think. If it was Ipswich or Sunderland people are more accepting of it because it is a big club. Fleetwood are a small club but they invest a lot of money, however still seen as little Fleetwood not ex Premier league Ipswich, Sunderland etc. sh** defending is shot defending no matter who the opposition are. At least make them work for it. We’ve given so many soft goals away against hull and Fleetwood there position in the table is no excuse. It’s just about having standards but ours have been lowered to absolute rock bottom since Coughlan left. As a fanbase we live in fear of sides that Coughlan’s team would have kicked up the arse. It’s sad how far we’ve fallen in every conceivable metric (apart from useless passes) since he left. Yet some would have you believe that GCs football was sh** and Garners is apparently better. That seems like Gas chat fact to me, I really don’t get it. At least we had a go with GC and we defended as if our lives depended on it. This just feels flat.

Oh dear..
It was men against boys.... quite literally.
Well I take no pride in saying this but we have got what we deserved. Poor in all areas, but we made Fleetwood look good because we failed to do the basics right.
As much as I feel let down by the players, again the manager is looking at the match slipping away and makes like for like changes, too late. Why is it we are 2-0 down before a change is made, or a few minutes either side of 70 minute mark? Games are fluid. We needed earlier thought pro active thought process because it's no coincidence we conceded when Fleetwood were on top. The manager should accept some responsibility for this.
Starting one recognised striker up front in this division, again? We got what we deserved, nothing....we set ourselves up to struggle, and our poor individual defensive errors capped a woeful day for is. So frustrating.
But not surprised.
All this give it time is all very good and well, but surely you learn by your mistakes don't you? Starting one striker up front v a team in play offs a couple of months ago and having decent names in their squad is learning NOTHING.
What we have is technically decent players that the majority have had development experience....when we come across teams that have a top heavy balance of wiley 3rd/4th division physical experience. There's only going to be one winner, especially with the stubbornness of a BG style coach that is in complete denial of their surroundings and blame the ref/conditions/journey.
Absolutely woeful. And frustrating.

More refereeing comments from Garner again. Clutching at straws!

Fair play, BG says this performance is not good enough and although he dwelled on the penalty that should never have been, he did apologise to the fans.

Naive first half poor goals to concede, playing against a better team in awful conditions, it happens onto the next project, be mid table this year and hopefully kick on next season.

That'll be experienced managers who got sacked for not being able to manage their last team... Not in Clough’s case, but that ship has sailed. Probably couldn’t afford him anyway. The danger is we’ll get rid of Garner and because of budget constraints hire just another risky candidate, probably a recently retired player who can talk a good game about bringing on youth and passing football when they don’t have any experience of coaching it on Saturday afternoon. ouch!

Almost took responsibility for it today. 2 minute before he even mentioned refereeing. Think someone has had a talking to.

BGs opinion not yours ,but it was an obvious penalty.whether Evan's would have scored without the nudge who knows but it was a timely shove. If you rely on a winger to be your last line of defence you are already in trouble...imagine ole percy Purnell being the last defensive hope for rovers back in the day ! Laughable

If BG bothers to look at the TV footage, he will see quite clearly it was a shove in the back from Nicholson. As regards his apologising to the fans, the best thing he can do for us is to clear off back where he came from.

He's been given more than enough time to prove himself. 17% win record sums it up. He's only still on the job because of no crowds in since March.

The man's a fraud and definately not a football league manager. Bugger off and give someone else a chance. And to think loads on here moaning about GC and his style of football and look what we have ended up with.

As regards his apologising to the fans, the best thing he can do for us is to clear off back where he came from. he been interviewed straight after the game perhaps he has not had a chance to look at any footage. To be fair he had the same view as the commentators who also thought is was a poor decision. We had a better view from our side of the pitch and the push was clear. A clearly frustrated man with the performance of his players, for which he apologised. They were more streetwise than us. There keeper was so annoying with his goal kicks, take it to the far side, throw it down then place it in the line, every time but the ref did nothing. They kept kicking the ball away and the ref did eventually book one of them but only after we had complained. When you are not playing well, things like that get to you. Thought it was a fair and honest interview from a deeply frustrated manager.

He was given a more than fair chance by the crowd before the season was curtailed early. I'm afraid if we were allowed in this season, he would have got the message quite sometime ago.

Bit like us at Sunderland after we scored. Spent the rest of the game falling about time wasting and generally not interested in playing football.
