In this interview he comes across as not being a particular fan of the Directors Of Football and Head Of recruitment roles, he likes to be hands on with every element of the club, although he worked under Steve Perryman for about 15 years, so dont really know what to make of it. Maybe he could take Tom Gorringe's job as well by the sounds of it. www.skysports.com/football/news/11096/11977851/paul-tisdale-on-why-managers-not-coaches-could-be-in-fashion-again"I have become very niche in terms of what I do. A lot of clubs have gone down the route of having a director of football, a head of recruitment and a head coach. I am someone who has a broad set of skills and I feel I can add value in all of those areas. "I think I am one of the very few managers who have a clear view of the business element of the club. It is not just football for me. I suppose that puts me in a small minority."

Finally listened to the Tisdale interview. Given he’s available and would surely be keen, if Wael sits down with him, I do not see a scenario in which he doesn’t get the job. His mindset will be music to Wael’s ears. Have to say......... I’ve had my mind changed. Would still love Cook (but concede that’s probably highly unrealistic) so my second choice is now Tisdale. For those that haven’t listened I can definitely recommend (gets good 35 mins in IMO) Got a link? I'm lost in the previous 21 pages trying to find it if it's in this thread!

I’ll back him if he gets it but I’d be very underwhelmed with Tisdale.

1/5 with BetVictor, sounds like he's got the job, if so, then I assume he was lined up before Saturday's game. Hughton was odds on the for the City post and it went to Dean Holden. The bookies usually haven’t got a clue and are just following where the money is going...and the money isn’t always right. There was a lad on here who got a tip off that Paul Hart was going to be our manager and so he whacked a load of money on...the job went to Dave Penney. Plenty more examples too. In fact it could be said that this thread is probably bringing the odds down because people will be reading it and thinking there is inside info and sticking a few quid on Tisdale as it seems like a done deal, thus the odds fall again... The next manager market odds mean nothing until the guy is actually announced and waving a scarf in the stadium (through gritted teeth in our case usually 😂)

A really good listen. I won't lie, his appointment would be slightly underwhelming recency bias permits worry given the way it fell apart at MK Dons but he comes across very well, has a clear idea in his head about how he wants to run a club etc. and it all sounds good on paper.

I too feel we should be aiming a little higher. He does sound like the sort of person Weal would want but I would rather see us go for someone who has more league one and championship experience. Cook would be my choice but that maybe a step too far for us to tempt him. Of course if Tisdale does get the job I will back him 100%.

Holloway would be ideal as he has managed at an elite level. Unless we can get someone in with Champions league experience, I’d go for the Banjo Islander.

Cook is a non starter, let's face it. I actually think he could be tempted. I think there’s a possibility - I don’t think he will get the Derby job. I might put a tenner on a complete outsider, not mentioned on here - Hannes Wolf.

Lots on Tisdale not being a fan of the head of recruitment/dof structure.
If he won’t go to a job with that setup he’ll struggle to get an upper league management role. It tends to only be the poorly run clubs now whom don’t have these positions in the upper leagues.

Go all out for Cook, the Stadium catering needs a complete overhaul. Failing that Tiszer’s the man.

Not even taking the water, just seen Paul Tisdale driving through Almondsbury on my way to work this morning.
