To be honest I don't dislike Tisdale. I think he's got a lot about him and has achieved some good things. I wouldn't hate it if he was appointed but he's not my preference plus recommendations from Pirate are clearly jinxed so it would obviously end in disaster. Not to mention, by his own admission, the man taught Paul Buckle everything he knows.Probably not everything, Buckle was a complete plonker. Tisdale is articulate, has longevity which tells me he is hugely respected and people speak highly of him so to compare him to Buckle in his characteristics is probably a bit unfair. UTG! Is that why he was out of work ?

Was Tillson assistant to Tisdale for his whole time at Exeter? Wikipedia doesn't mention if he followed him to MK Dons. Does anyone know what he's doing at the moment? No, he was never his assistant at Exeter. Tilly worked as a part time coach.

I’m not going to stand around and clap anyone who takes us back to league two. Some on here would be perfectly happy to because they think that’s what being a supporter is all about: being perfectly happy however badly run the club is being. I’ve stopped classing myself as a supporter as a result. I’m a follower, I want us to win and my support of the manager is conditional on the job he is doing. As always other ways of associating yourself with the club are available.... So this for me is a very unambitous signing, but Tisdale has at least some promotions to his name so it’s not as rank bad as Garner and he can’t ruin a winning team so that’s a decent start in and of itself. Eh? Have I missed the last 6 months and woken up and we’ve been relegated? Seriously get some perspective, he’s not been appointed and you’re justifying your criticism by predicting something that’s not happened. I wouldn’t be happy and I suspect no one else on here would be either at relegation And everyone wants what you want, to win football matches. And as for being an unambitious signing, at the moment it’s no kind of signing because he hasn’t signed. It’s just forum talk, it may or may not happen. UTG! The IF in my post was highlighted as if conditional support is some kind of heinous crime so I’m emphasising that I won’t stand around and clap defeats. If a manager gets results he will have my support, if he doesn’t he won’t ergo I won’t applaud any manager who is taking us down just because he’s the manager of the club I follow. Well it seems pretty nailed on that it will be Tisdale. It could be worse, but it could have been better too. A bit of an average signing but one that seems to fit with the direction the club is going in and won’t cost money in compensation because he’s without a job since being let go by MK Dons. Cook would have been a stellar, if extremely unrealistic appointment, Clough would have been a great move if they had acted sooner, Duff from Cheltenham would have been decent as he is currently in work doing well and untried at league one level. Tisdale has been tried in league one and it’s not been great for the most part. He seems like a quality league two manager but we aren’t in league two. So for me, not that impressed for the level we are at.

I’m sure you’re not saying that anyone’s out of work can’t have those attributes. Are you? UTG!

And all about someone who hasn’t been appointed yet. Yes Cook would have been great, so would Pep but it wasn’t going to happen. When Tisdale is or isn’t appointed I guess we’ll find out one way or the other. No one comes with a guarantee. UTG!

Would not be my choice, he was longest serving manager at Exeter the club didnt progress a great deal. Moved on to MK Dons but never impressed. What's Exeter's highest ever league position ? Genuine question. 8th position in league 1 which is jointly owned by an ex-Gas in Brian Godfrey in 79/80 and by the looks of it a future gas Manager in 10/11 with a certain Jamie Cureton hitting 20 goals.

Knows how to manage a club, and games we've played against Exeter, always seems to do that well when we play his teams, so that's good enough for me.
I read nothing into his league 1 record, as he's only ever managed recently promoted League 2 clubs there; an established league 1 club is an entirely different job.

When was the last time he was in work? More recently than most furloughed workers.

When was the last time he was in work? I'm not going to continue playing this game with you, because it's moronic.

Surely a club would of snapped him up ?

Nothing against Paul Tisdale as he fits our philosophy. Just, out of interest has there ever been a gas manager fans have been excited about before they joined in the last 15 years? I can’t remember any in recent times!
