---------Jaakkola----------
Hare, Baldwin, Ehmer, leahy
-------Grant, Westbrooke-------
Nicholson, McCormick, JML/Barret -----------Hanlan-----------
Personally this would be my team, with Oztumer, Daly and tutonda/koiki to come on if needed.

I don't think Hare, Tutonda or Koiki are particularly good full backs. Good at wing back, as their strengths are going forward, but I know a lot on here don't like three at the back. Having said that, I don't know what PT has favoured historically. The success of playing 3 at the back requires good wing backs. These players are expected to defend like full backs and attack like wingers. In reality at L1 level you will not find such players. The wing backs at our level are either glorified full backs or glorified attacking wide midfielders - but not both. in fact, such multi purpose players are rare and as a result loads of Championship and Premiership teams play 4 at the back. Please let's get back to a defensive line of 4 players with a holding central midfielder. The system is well tried, easy to understand and provides both defensive and attacking options.

For me:
—————Jaakkola————— Hare—-Ehmer—-Harries—Koiki ———Westbrooke—Grant——- Nicholson-Oztumer—-JML —————Hanlan————-
I think 4 instead of 3 makes us more solid at the back, also 4-2-3-1 is a good way to fit Oztumer and Nicholson in the team in their correct positions.

Tisdale is going to suffer from the fact we have too many defenders, too many midfielders, but not enough up front that you can guarantee to hit the target. I see a long winter ahead

Harries always looks a liability when we play with three CB's (I assume it was him who failed to mark the goal scorer yesterday?) so I can't believe posters now want to see him in back two pairing! I also don't get the fascination with Koiki, as he looked totally out of his depth v Fleetwood.

Agree with Axe on this one, perhaps Tutonda instead of Koiki but I haven't seen either play as a full back instead of a wing back so I guess it would be whoever fits it better.

If daly isn't fit. Grant to drop into a back 3 if both full backs are forward. This feels must win already.

That's not true though topper is it. Harries was playing well when we went on that good run and was getting some good comments on here. The truth is we have a young team, winning breeds confidence, the younger players at the moment are collectively making mistakes maybe because their heads have dropped, it happens to all teams.

Add to skewed composition of the squad (ie loads of defenders and midfielders but few strikers) we have a dearth of fighting spirit. This team needs to win matches and is not good enough to stroll through games. This is a team that scores few goals with an inferior goal difference. Where are the leaders in this squad?

He was already subbed when they scored, Upson was picking him up from that free kick.

I assumed it couldn't be Upson as we wouldn't be daft enough to have a CM marking a striker, I'd love to know who's responsible for organising our defence during a match, Ehmer?, as we seem all over the place when a free kick or corner is put into our box.

One to ask our new DoF at the next Q&A? Although no doubt BG will get the blame even though somebody higher up the pyramid must have been approving all his signings. The signings late in the day of Liddle and Koiki seems particularly odd when it was already clear by the time we signed them that we needed a striker or two plus some much needed experience.
