Probably our stand out big signing during the summer and ever present since tisdale took charge so why after the new manager came in has he been on the bench every time? I thought he would have been tisdale's type of player just like Ryan Harley who played under him at Exeter? Thoughts...

Just needs to stop coming so deep to collect the ball.

He's very talented but needs to be guided better - hopefully Tisdale will get the best out of him as the season progresses.

McCormick offers some good footballing ability going forward tho not as much as Westbrook, but offers more as an all round midfielder imo, That could be earning him the shirt at the moment. Id like Westbrook to have a place in the team but I really don’t want him to just be accommodated for and fit in just for the sake of playing him (as garner seemed to do with some players) he’ll get his opportunity same as everyone im sure. Utg!

Utg! Agree about attacking intent. McCormick moves forward at the opposition far more than Westbrook. As I stated on another post, Mason Mount would be a good mentor for Westbrook to follow / copy in the current players visible on TV. I think Westbrook has very similar skills and talents that he has not yet exploited. He needs to move forwards not sideways and have more confidence in his abilities and have a go at the opposition defenders.

He’s just very lightweight and doesn’t seem to want to get involved with the physical side of the game, I think that will make it very difficult to have Westbrook and oztumer in the same midfield.. and at least for the time being I’d much rather start oz

Utg! I think you are right about McCormick as a better all round midfielder. He put in a few sliding challenges on Sunday, something I don't think you would see players like Westbrook do. I just think for now PT doesn't want to play both Westbrook and Ozzy together as it does make us weaker off the ball. Westbrook is young and has time on his side. I do feel he will still play a very important role for us over the next few years.

Do you think the Emir's slogan to them will be "No Quatar Given"? Especially with Biden as the incumbent. Just my idea of a little joke? Up The Quarters UTG

He’s just been a bit off form. Attacking/creative midfielders not performing to their full potential are often the first to be sacrificed if the team is struggling...a fair few on here were often calling for Lines to be dropped even when he was playing well so it’s hardly a shock Zain has been subjected to a spell out of the starting XI.

Zian is likely to be integral to Tisdale's plans especially as we have such a busy schedule still being in two cup competitions. We also are bound to clock up the injuries and suspensions as the season progresses. In the meantime Tisdale will be helping develope into a more accomplished midfielder

Looking forward to how having a manager can change certain players form. Hoping the likes of Westbrooke, Kilgour, Grant and others with good man management and coaching will regain some confidence and step up. We've plenty of players with great technical assets that were in my opinion let down by the previous manager.

He just looks too laidback at the moment. The potential is obvious, hopefully Tisdale can get the best out of him.

One or two rare moments of quality - mainly from set pieces - is not enough to warrant a place in the side.
Personally, I don't rate him at all. I'd have him behind Grant, Upson, McCormick, Liddle, Hargreaves and Oztumer in a battle for a position in our midfield.
He slows the game down WAY too much. Almost always passes backwards or sideways. Seldom drives forward in possession. Has started to misplace even the most simple of passes. He can't tackle and seems to lack the drive and determnation I'd expect from any player wearing the quarters.
There is still time for him to come good but I'm not at all surprised he's been dropped from the starting 11.

I'm loathe to get on the back of players for not performing under the previous manager because frankly, none of them did. Let's see where we are with Zain in three months time. I'm hoping a lot will kick on.

He needs to play in an advanced position to be effective, have total faith in PT to get the best out of him.

He has great creativity, even when an ambitious pass he tries to do does pay off you have to say he still had the vision and creative mind to see the pass and go for it, I personally can’t see his off the ball game getting any better, but he could still play the roll Oztumer played Sunday no problem

Replace all text Westbrook with Lines (Mk1) would probably match any comments around that era!
